Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Zack sat without moving.
But the wine glass he was playing with in his hand.
Suddenly shattered in his grip.
Olivia screamed in fright, "Blood, Zack, you're bleeding..."
"Get out."
"Zack?"
"I said get out, can't you understand?"
Zack suddenly stood up and violently smashed the shattered wine glass on the ground.
Olivia was stunned for a good while before bursting into tears and running out.
The others in the room also sensibly left one after another.
Zack's hand hung at his side, blood dripping onto the ground drop by drop.
But he seemed completely unaware of the pain, just staring intently at Simon.
After a while, he finally raised his hand and pointed at me.
"Simon, care to explain this to me?"
The fingers hidden under his sleeve were gripped even tighter by Simon.
His fingers were dry and strong, giving an indescribable sense of security.
"Explain what?"
"Why is Lola here with you?"
"You invited me to bring my girlfriend to your birthday party, remember?"
Simon held my hand and pulled me to his side, putting his arm around me.
Zack seemed to be instantly enraged like a fierce beast.
He picked up the cups and plates in front of him with his bleeding hand and smashed them violently on the ground.
"Simon, do you fucking know that Lola is mine?"
"Yours in what way? Girlfriend or fiancée?"
Simon didn't back down an inch, "Or are you saying that just because a girl liked you, she's become your private property with your label on her?"
Zack's eyes were bloodshot, a sea of red.
"You knew damn well that Lola liked me, and you still fucking stole her from me?"
"Zack, he didn't steal me."
I squeezed Simon's hand and looked at Zack.
"I made the first move."
"Also, I don't like you. I should say, I stopped liking you a long time ago."
I looked at him and suddenly realized that I had long since let go.
After all, any girl with a bit of self-respect wouldn't like someone who never respected her one bit.
Nor would she like someone cold-hearted and callous, who treated her as if she could be summoned or dismissed at will.
Perhaps in those years when we grew up together as childhood sweethearts, there were some hazy feelings.
But after my true identity was revealed and his attitude changed drastically.
Those feelings had actually long since turned to ashes.
"Lola, what are you saying?"
Zack seemed to have heard the biggest joke ever.
"You fucking almost jumped into the river for me, and now you're saying you don't like me?"
"I never thought about jumping into the river for you."
"That night I went to the riverside, it was just to find an excuse for Simon to come pick me up."
Zack was suddenly stunned.
After a while, he stared at me with bulging eyes, gritting his teeth as he spoke word by word.
"So, that night in the dorm, the person in Simon's bed was you?"
"That's right, it was me."
"Zack, you go on with your relationship."
"I told you that day, I will never cling to you again in the future."
"I'll never go back on those words."
After saying this, I didn't look at him again.
I pulled Simon and turned to leave, "Simon, let's go home. I want to see what our new home looks like."
But Simon didn't move.
He looked at Zack, his gaze calm yet sharp and pressuring.
"Zack, in the future, I don't want to hear anyone criticize my girlfriend."
At this point, Zack had completely lost it, speaking without thinking, "Simon, who the hell do you think you are?"
Simon just smiled coldly, "If you're not clear about who I am, why don't you go home and ask your old man."
Zack suddenly fell silent.
His gaze slowly moved from Simon's face to mine.
His originally handsome face now had an indescribable grimace.
"Lola."
