I was looking forward to starting uni and beginning the rest of my life with the freedom I wanted. I hadn't spoken to my father yet and John had had a session with him where he read the letter I had written. Apparently, the letter didn't go down well but what can you do? In the letter I had said he had made me feel and what I wanted out of allowing him into my life. I set out the boundaries and made it clear that he was not in control. I couldn't force my father to accept the relationship I wanted with him and he couldn't force me to be the person I was before. John thought it was best if we took a break and tried again later because we were both on different pages of what we wanted.
John didn't push me to accept my father's terms he encouraged me to set my own expectations and not settle for less. I still had a few sessions with my brothers. Lucas and I had an understanding and it was working well for us. He accepted what I could give. Joshua and I had seen each other a few times with Lucas or Bryson around but it was a bit awkward so we mainly just texted each other. Ethan and I didn't really have a relationship which was ok with me. I was happy with where I was at and hoped my mum would be proud of the woman I was becoming. I was so focused on earning my law degree and getting through the upcoming court cases that I didn't have time to dwell on my father or Ethan.
Epilogue
Today I finally graduated uni. I get to walk on stage and accept my degree in front of my friends and family. I can't wait it's been a long time coming and bloody hard work. A lot has happened in that time and I have grown up even more. I'd love to tell you that Harley and I were happy and still together but life isn't always a fairytale.
After my uni exams in the first year of my degree, I went to surprise Harley and spend time with him. I arrived at the house and walked in to see Levi and Jason snuggling on the couch. They both looked at me weirdly and thought that I was already there. I went to Harley's room where I found him naked in bed with some chick. Needless to say, it ended that night although not before he blamed me for him fucking around on me because how dare I be busy with uni. Levi ended up decking him and Jason got me out of there because I had started to have a panic attack. Levi and Jason took me back to my dorm and spent the night with me. Levi couldn't believe what Harley had done and then how he blamed it on me.
Three months after I caught him cheating he turned up at my dorm every night trying to get me to forgive him. I wouldn't give him the time of day. One night I got home late as I had been out with some friends to celebrate the settlement of my case against the state and found Harley on the phone to someone organising a lift. He was drunk and was right outside my door. I should have walked away but stupid me thought I could get into the dorm. Harley turned nasty screaming at me and calling me every name under the sun. By the time his mate turned up to get him, Harley had me pinned against the wall and I was in the middle of a panic attack. The guy who I later found out was a mate from his work named Jasper, had to pull him off me and tried to help calm me down.
Jasper took my phone and rang Levi who immediately came and stayed with me along with Bryson and Jason. The next day Jasper turned up to check on me. He came over a few times to check on me and we became friends. 6 weeks later I moved into a house I brought with the money from my settlement. Bryson and Levi ended up moving in with me as Levi could no longer stay in the rental with the others. I wasn't sad my relationship with Harley ended, I mean we were kids. I was sad it broke up the friendship group. Tommy and Brad took Harley's side and Levi took mine.
Jason and Levi moved out of my house last year and are couple goals. They are getting married in a few months and I am Levi's maid of honour. Jason's family welcomed Levi in with open arms and they were both happy. Bryson moved out as well wanting his own space. He has just started dating a gorgeous girl he met at work but won't let me meet her yet. I have seen photos of her and them together and they look great together. It is cute how he is all nervous about it.
