Wifey’s Best Friend Knocks Her Up

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

After beating him, Nadia panted heavily, looking at me with a fawning expression.

"Nash, you can hit him or scold him. Do whatever you want to vent your anger."

Then she turned to Kieran, her eyes looking like she wanted to tear him apart.

"If you don't get Nash's forgiveness today, I'll report you for embezzling company funds. You can rot in jail."

Kieran was scared out of his wits. He frantically grabbed my sleeve, his face covered in tears and snot.

I couldn't be bothered to listen to his apology. I shook him off and walked away. Nadia cursed him as useless and hurriedly chased after me.

"Nash, I've already made him apologize. I won't see him ever again after this."

"If you're still not satisfied, you can hit me or scold me. Just please don't leave."

Her face was full of regret and tear stains. I stopped and stared at her for a long time before sighing softly.

"Nadia, you still don't understand why I broke up with you."

The main reason I broke up with her wasn't because of Kieran, but because of her.

We were together for seven years. There were so many opportunities for us to get married, but we missed them every time.

Aside from Kieran, there were problems in our relationship itself.

"Nadia, was there something I didn't do well enough? Why did you choose Kieran? Do you love him that much?"

Why did I feel like I had given her all my love, yet she still turned a blind eye and easily chose someone else?

Was our relationship of so many years really not worth as much as her unrequited love from her youth?

My questions stunned her for a moment. When she reacted, she shook her head frantically.

"It's not like that."

"I don't love Kieran at all."

She just couldn't let it go. In the past when her circumstances weren't as good, she wasn't good enough for Kieran and was humiliated by his mother. She always had that knot in her heart.

This time when Kieran came back and actively pursued her, it allowed her to regain her pride.

"Being with him was just a momentary impulse, just playing around."

My heart grew colder. For someone she didn't even love, she could betray her partner like this. What did our relationship of so many years mean to her?

Nadia humbly rested her face on my shoulder, holding back sobs as she said:

"I'm sorry. I was confused for a moment. You were too good to me, so good that I thought you would forgive me no matter what."

"I regretted it the day you left, but you had spoiled me so much that I couldn't bring myself to beg you to come back. I never thought we would end up like this. If I could do it over again, I would never treat you this way."

She cried painfully, but I just found it somewhat laughable.

Since when did loving someone more and giving more become a fault?

I took a step back, silently widening the distance between us.

There are no do-overs in this world. Everyone has to face the consequences of their choices.

"Nadia, let's not see each other again in the future."

She could no longer hold back and broke down sobbing. But I walked away without looking back.
