Dying to Divorce Him

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

I yanked the blanket off him and shoved the hotel room key in his face.

"What the hell is this, Felix?"

He blinked at it groggily, clearly annoyed.

"What room key?"

I waved it in front of him again.

"This one. The one with lipstick on it."

He barely glanced at it before tossing it in the trash.

"Probably from some actress during a drinking game or whatever. Who knows?"

He reached out to pull me back into bed like nothing had happened.

I jerked away, grabbed my blanket, and stormed out of the room.

By the time he dragged himself out of bed, it was already evening. I had just gotten back from the office.

I didn't waste any time.

"Felix, can we finally have a real conversation?"

He flopped onto the couch, stretching like he had all the time in the world.

"Sure, go ahead."

I looked him straight in the eye.

"I want to go public with our relationship. I'm tired of hiding."

It was like I'd lit a fuse.

He jumped up, voice rising instantly.

"Are you insane? This is the peak of my career! If we go public now, everything I've worked for could go down the drain!"

I stared at him in disbelief.

"So you can have rumors flying around with random women, but you can't admit to being with me?"

"That's different. That stuff's just for show, for the fans. You… you're real."

He tried to soften his tone, scooting closer.

"Just give me two more years, okay? I swear, once things settle, I'll make it official."

I let out a bitter laugh.

"Two years? I might not even have two months."

He looked at me like I'd said the most absurd thing imaginable.

"Come on, Emma. Don't be dramatic. You've waited this long. What's a little longer?"

He even raised his hand like he was making some solemn vow.

But I'd already swallowed everything I'd been meaning to say. The moment passed. Again.

Felix stayed home for two or three days before heading back to set.

"Emma, you should come visit! The crew would love to see you!" he called out as he left, cheerful as ever.

I wasn't smiling.

Instead, I called my assistant.

"Find out everything you can about the woman he's currently rumored with. I want her full background."

Before the investigation could even begin, I got a friend request, from her.

"I'm Felix's girlfriend," the message read.

I stared at the screen, then clicked "accept." I needed to see what kind of snake I was dealing with.

The second I did, she bombarded me with photos:

Her holding hands with Felix.

Felix sleeping on her lap.

Felix shirtless in her bed, covered by nothing but a thin blanket.

The room was decked out in pink, cutesy decorations, clearly a woman's space.

"You must be the 'sister' Felix always talks about," she wrote. "We're both women here. I know you like him, but we're together now. So please, stop using that ridiculous sister excuse to stay close to him."

My hands trembled. I clenched my fists so tightly, my nails dug into my palms.

I asked her flat out:

"Do you even know who I am?"

She left me on read.

I drove straight to set, bringing enough food for the entire crew. I didn't head straight to Felix. Instead, I went straight to the director's office.

I handed him a file. The woman's full background.

The moment he saw me, he straightened up, full of respect.

"I don't like her," I said flatly. "And I don't want her doing any scenes with Felix. Replace her."

He didn't even hesitate.

"Understood."

With that handled, I went to Felix's dressing room.

I didn't even knock, just opened the door.

There she was. Wrapped around him like she owned the place.

The second Felix saw me, he shoved her aside and practically ran to me.

"Emma! You're here already!"

I didn't even glance at him. My eyes were locked on her.

Felix awkwardly pulled her forward.

"This is Zia Bailey. She's the lead actress in the drama. We were just rehearsing, "

Zia gave me this smug little smile, her tone syrupy sweet.

"Oh, you must be Emma! I've heard so much about you!"

I gave her a cold smile and said,

"Cut the fake niceness. My parents taught me better than to fall for that crap."

Right then, her agent walked in and called her away. She shot me one last look before leaving.

But I wasn't done.

Not even close.
