Chapter 18, Promise to be Daniel's girlfriend

Chapter 18, Promise to be Daniel's girlfriend

"Oh, yeah."

With that, Daniel took off his jacket, removed his sunglasses, and reshuffled his short blow-dried hair against the rearview mirror of the sedan, "How about this?"

"Better."

"That's fine, let's go." Daniel said as he opened the car door. "What else are you doing carrying things?"

Jules was about to take him to the supermarket to buy a random fruit basket, who knew he was well prepared.

"What does it look like for a boyfriend to meet his future mother-in-law and not bring something with him?" Daniel raised an eyebrow at her and smiled.

"Okay. Then I'll transfer money to you later."

"Nah! No need, just some simple gifts."

The two went into the Mayo Clinic together, and on the way, Daniel asked about Jules' adoptive parents, taking the opportunity to ask about Jules' favorites and birthdate.

He just wanted to know her a little more. Although everyone thought Jules was not that good-looking, Daniel secretly had a crush on her.

Up on the 21st floor of the inpatient unit, Jules led Daniel into the room, "Mom!"

Daniel followed Jules in, and when he saw Marsha, he smiled politely and said, "Auntie, my name is Daniel. I'm Jules' boyfriend, and I just came from a business trip.”

“I'm sorry for not visiting you earlier, please forgive me."

Marsha looked at Daniel, who was dressed in a white shirt and suit pants. He was handsome and had clean features, a very competent and clean boy.

"Oh, hello! Make yourself at home." Marsha pointed to the couch before sitting next to Daniel, "Your name is Daniel, right?"

"Yeah, Auntie."

"Seeing that you are such a handsome boy with a good temperament, how come you have taken a fancy to my daughter? You must be my daughter's fake boyfriend, right?"

True to form, the mother who raised Jules saw right through the cat. Jules' heart thumped and she sweated for Daniel, fearing he might mess up his performance.

"Auntie, I never judge people by their appearance. Jules may be mediocre looking, but she has a good heart, and I like that."

"Really?"

"Of course."

"So, have you decided when you're going to get married?"

"Gee, Mom, how can you ask Daniel that question when you're meeting him for the first time?!" Jules was speechless.

"You shut up! I'm now talking to Daniel." Marsha chortled.

Daniel took a look at Jules and rubbed his hands with a hint of nervousness. It's a feeling that didn't seem to have been there for many years.

He smiled politely, "Auntie, the marriage needs to be discussed with Jules, as there is no rush in such matters."

"Come on, don't act." Marsha patted Daniel's shoulder, "Auntie knows that my daughter is not good enough for you."

The boy in front of him is a talented man, although he was dressed in ordinary clothes, but the bones of a temperament didn't match his aura.

"Mom!"

Jules wanted to cry, as she didn't expect his adoptive mother to see through the truth at once. "Okay." Daniel shrugged helplessly and sighed, "Since auntie can see it, I won't pretend."

He then stood up and walked towards Jules, before he knelt down to her level.

“Jules, I've been in love with you for a long time, so can you be my girlfriend? Although I look quite unreliable, I will prove to you with practical actions that I am worthy of your trust."

Jules' pupils went wide, as she was confused by the sudden reversal.

Dear Lord, what was Daniel doing?

Just as she was dazed, Daniel suddenly squeezed his eyes towards her and gave her a look. She just realized that this guy was 'racing'!

"Huh? I& "

Jules played along wisely, "I just asked you to pretend to be a boyfriend, Daniel! Don't do that, we really don't fit."

"Whether it's suitable or not, we'll know after getting along. I, Daniel, am really not a person who judges people by their appearance. Today, in front of your mom, I hope you can give me a chance."

"Forget it, we can only be friends, I'm not good enough for you."

"My, Jules. Please don't reject me so soon& ”.

At the moment of speaking, Daniel pulled out a square box from his pants pocket, in which lay a delicate necklace with a four- leaf clover pendant. Showing it to her, Jules could not help but to look at him, confused.

Every word he said was seemingly from the heart, even his eyes were so sincere.

If Daniel hadn't just given her a wink, Jules would have thought Daniel was really confessing his love for her.

"Wow, there's a handsome man confessing his love."

"He's so handsome, he actually likes such a mediocre girl, it must be true love!"

"I'm jealous, I want such a boyfriend too.."

......

Because the ward door was left open, a few nurses who came back from dinner bumped into this scene just in time. They stopped and even took their cell phones to record.

The nurses who were familiar with Jules chanted. "Jules, say yes!"

"He's so good to you, hurry up and say yes to him!"

"That's right, girl! Go for it!"

A few nurses even jumped up in excitement.

Marsha, who was sitting on the sofa, smiled, "Jules, don't be shy."

Seeing the young man seemed to be serious to their daughter, she was pleased, and really wished Jules could be happy. When the time was right to take Jules to meet his parents, she and the old man should have been discharged as well.

Not only would Jules no longer have to pretend to be ugly in front of the Vaughn family, she would be able to meet Daniel's parents with her real face!

"Mom, I& "

She skimmed and looked at Daniel helplessly, "...Are you sure about it?"
