Chapter 18, Promise to be Daniel's girlfriend

"Oh, yeah."

With that, Daniel took off his jacket, removed his sunglasses, and reshuffled his short blow-dried hair against the rearview mirror of the sedan, "How about this?"

"That's fine, let's go." Daniel said as he opened the car door. "What else are you doing carrying things?"

Jules was about to take him to the supermarket to buy a random fruit basket, who knew he was well prepared.

"What does it look like for a boyfriend to meet his future mother-in-law and not bring something with him?" Daniel raised an eyebrow at her and smiled.

"Okay. Then I'll transfer money to you later."

"Nah! No need, just some simple gifts."

The two went into the Mayo Clinic together, and on the way, Daniel asked about Jules' adoptive parents, taking the opportunity to ask about Jules' favorites and birthdate.

He just wanted to know her a little more. Although everyone thought Jules was not that good-looking, Daniel secretly had a crush on her.

Up on the 21st floor of the inpatient unit, Jules led Daniel into the room, "Mom!"

Jules' pupils went wide, as she was confused by the sudden reversal.

Just as she was dazed, Daniel suddenly squeezed his eyes towards her and gave her a look. She just realized that this guy was 'racing'!

Jules played along wisely, "I just asked you to pretend to be a boyfriend, Daniel! Don't do that, we really don't fit."
