Chapter 773.Julian’s overwhelming power.
In a very icy region of the natural secret realm, across an icy plane, Julian Seir was currently surrounded by three individuals. Ultimately, these fellows belonged to the same guild. They were from the 17th continent. They had found each other eventually as they killed chaotic beasts. They were the fourth, fifth, and sixth ranked individuals. One was a gnome, another was a treant, and the last person was a centaur.
"So, you guys believe in strength in numbers, right?" Julian chuckled. There was not even an iota of fear or nervousness in his voice.
He did not find their reasoning stupid. Band together to eliminate the third-ranked; after that, they would definitely look for other lower-ranked participants and kill them until only ten people remained, so that the competition would end. That way, they make sure their ranks are secure quickly as the competition ends before some powerful chaotic beast ends up killing them or they die to some ambush from other participants in the end. It was indeed a smart plan they had conjured.
Unfortunately for them, they encountered him. At Julian’s words, the trio snorted coldly. The fourth-ranked, the gnome spoke calmly.
"We don’t look down on you, that’s why we joined hands to kill you. Alone, you can end each of us, but if we work together... not sure you stand a chance. No hard feelings. We just want the competition to come to an end quickly. The more it lasts, the more the dangers, and our ranks may not be secure. And you are the nearest person in the vicinity we can use to hasten the process."
Julian shrugged as if he didn’t even take them seriously. The gnome waved her hand. The temperature intensified. Several ice shards cracked and melted from the heat. A very large red orb spinning in circles formed from her pointed finger. A large palm made of earth formed in front of the treant, tyrannical and domineering. The centaur’s body cracked with strange melodies. He slapped his bulging arms together and a blasting sonic boom shot towards Julian.
The large rock palm of the treant came down on Julian, tearing through everything. The red spinning orb of fire blasted forward from the gnome’s fingertips. Julian remained completely calm and quiet. He didn’t move.
Those watching could feel the attacks were very powerful. Several Rank 3 novice-stage transcendents among the empire-wide audience felt how dangerous these attacks were. These three who had attacked Julian Seir were very powerful. How would he deal with these principle attacks? Soon, they had their answer.
As the attacks reached Julian, it was as if time had stopped. His left hand stretched sideways, white hair billowing as the resplendent glows formed from the attacks coming down on him illuminated the place. Darkness twirled around his left hand and materialized into a very large obsidian broadsword, formed from the principle of darkness. The broadsword was in his left hand .
The edges of the obsidian broadsword danced like leaflets billowing in the wind. He didn’t move; just his left hand did.
The broadsword came down. It met with the red orb of fire, the sonic boom, and the rock palm. There was no tension, no suspense. The broadsword of darkness cleaved through the three attacks and obliterated them.
Julian took a step forward in the air, leaving a trail of booms in his wake, rings of shockwaves spreading outwards. His broadsword of darkness came down. Too fast, the trio thought. They didn’t even have time to react, think, or even have regrets, as the broadsword cleaved through their bodies into half. Their dead, husky forms fell on the ice, painting the floor in crimson.
With a broadsword of darkness in hand, Julian turned into a streak of light and shot forward, disappearing into the distance. The audience had mouths wide open. This Julian Seir was a monster. No doubt, he would have been able to effortlessly handle Tawaki Xi, considering how effortlessly he had killed these three. A clash between him and Tawaki may last a long time, and may be drawn out, but he should emerge victorious in the end.
Many came to this conclusion. After all, they had been paying close attention to all the participants. Making such a deduction was not a problem for them. Plus, everyone in the empire was a transcendent. Coming to such a conclusion through observation was natural. To think Tawaki Xi is actually headed towards Kailen Darkhaven, when he won’t even be a match for Julian Seir, who’s way weaker than Kailen Darkhaven.
It was really a disadvantage that participants could not see the broadcast of other participants spread apart from them like the spectators could. Had Tawaki Xi seen how Kailen Darkhaven effortlessly killed those three behemoths, perhaps he would have deduced the fellow was not worth offending. By now, several observed his part of the stream as he sped across the sea, headed forward towards Kailen Darkhaven, ignorant of Kailen’s power.
Anyway, at the same time, the names of the three participants Julian had killed finally disappeared from the rankings. This meant that only 12 participants remained in the competition at the moment. Two more had to die for the competition to come to an end. And one person everyone among the audience was certain would die, whether they had placed bets on him and liked to admit it or not, Tawaki Xi, was sending himself to his own death.
*****
Kailen had just killed several Rank 3 novice-stage chaotic beasts on the sea. The whole place was currently painted crimson at the moment as the dead bodies of ginormous creatures floated on the sea surface, principle fragments hovering across their dead bodies. Kailen saw that the rankings had glitched again.
"Seems the competition is ending soon. Three dead," Kailen mused.
At this moment, a glint flashed through his eyes. He saw someone approaching from a distance. The person was in a whirlwind, holding some sort of sickle made out of the principle of wind. He had a cold glint in his eyes the moment he locked eyes with Kailen.
Tawaki Xi... Clearly, Kailen knew why he was here. Kailen shook his head. Since he brought himself, might as well put an end to him.
