He Thought I Cheated, Beat Me Until I Lost Our Baby, Then Learned It Was His

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

"Impossible, this is absolutely impossible. This is a lie you've made up to trick me. If my mom was with Mark, how did Emma's underwear end up at his house?"

"That's because your mom secretly wore Emma's underwear," my dad sighed.

When he was handling Mark's case, Mark's wife didn't believe it either.

After all, who could accept that their husband's affair partner was a 50-year-old middle-aged woman?

She also brought up the underwear issue.

But Pamela said she just thought Emma's underwear looked nice and wanted to spice up her and Mark's sex life.

Because lately, Mark had been reluctant to sleep with her.

Learning the truth, Connor completely broke down.

He grabbed his hair forcefully, letting out a low, angry roar.

He looked like he wanted to tear Mark apart right then and there.

After venting his emotions, Connor raised his head again.

"Even if she didn't have an affair with Mark, she must have been with someone else. Otherwise, where did the baby in her belly come from?"

I said coldly, "Whether you believe it or not, the child was yours."

"Impossible, absolutely impossible," Connor denied immediately. "The doctor said my sperm count was low. I couldn't possibly have children."

"Low sperm count doesn't mean no sperm at all. It just means it's harder to conceive, but there's still a possibility of pregnancy," a police officer commented after hearing this. "Which doctor did you see? They seem quite unprofessional."

Connor didn't believe this. "I saw a doctor at the Happy Men's Clinic on Happy Street. Their doctors are more professional than you."

"Happy Men's Clinic?" The officer laughed upon hearing this. "You went to the wrong place. That's a shady private clinic. We get about six complaints of fraud for every ten cases from there. They deliberately exaggerate things to scam money from people."

These words shocked Connor tremendously.

He still didn't want to believe it.

Until someone showed him similar cases, he finally realized he had been scammed by the doctors there.

Connor became even more dejected.

He finally realized the gravity of the situation.

He turned to look at me, "Honey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do this. I lost my mind because I love you too much and did something so terrible."

"Please forgive me. If you want, you can hit me to vent your anger. I really didn't mean to doubt you. For the sake of our child, give me one more chance. A child needs a father."

In just a few seconds, Connor had turned back into the person I was familiar with.

His eyes were full of remorse.

I said coldly, "Child? What child? You beat our child to death."

"Wh-what?" Connor looked horrified. "The baby is gone? But I... I didn't use that much force."

"Oh really?" I lifted my shirt, revealing the bruises on my belly that showed just how much force Connor had used. "This is what you did to me. Have you forgotten, Connor? The child is gone, killed by you, its own father."

As I said this, my whole body was shaking.

Waves of sorrow washed over me.

I had to try hard not to let my tears fall.

Connor bit his lip, still not believing it.

"No, it's impossible. Emma, you must be lying to me. I controlled my strength. How could the baby be lost so easily? You're just trying to upset me, right?"

I didn't know.

I never realized Connor was such a distrustful person.

I held back my tears and took out the embryo specimen and divorce papers from my bag.

"This is the child you killed. I was going to let you do another paternity test, but it seems unnecessary now." I took a deep breath. "Connor, let's get a divorce."

Connor's hands trembled as he held the bottle.

Seeing the tiny embryo, his whole body started shaking.

"How could this happen? My child, my child!" he cried.

His crying seemed like crocodile tears to me.

After Connor finished crying, the police told him that because of the severity of his actions and my unwillingness to forgive him, he would likely go to prison.

Hearing this, Connor's face turned pale.

He urgently begged me, "Emma, please don't press charges. I really just lost control for a moment. I never meant to cause you to miscarry. Give me one more chance, okay? Can we go back to how we were before?"

Faced with his remorse and pleas, I didn't agree.

After all, it wasn't just me who was hurt in this incident.

When he whipped my mom, why didn't he think about giving us a chance?

Even as Connor was being taken away, he was still saying he loved me.

Thinking about our seven years together and the fists he had thrown at me, I couldn't tell how much of that love was real and how much was fake.

When Pamela, who hadn't been seen for a long time, learned that Connor was going to jail, she suddenly showed up at my door.

As soon as she saw me, she started begging.
