My Double Kills Me, So My Husband Kills Her

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

The sudden slap burned across my cheek, the sting sharp and immediate.

"You cheap knockoff, do you even know where you are?" one of the women snapped, her voice laced with disgust.

"You seriously got surgery to look like Olivia just to seduce Mr. Holt? Talk about desperate for a leg up," another one sneered.

That's when it hit me, the woman who slapped me was Olivia, Alexander's so-called substitute.

Alexander's obsession with control had always made me keep my distance. Even after he forced me into marriage, I stayed cold and untouchable.

Maybe to punish me, or maybe just to fill the void, I couldn't say for sure. But eventually, he went looking for a replacement.

And Olivia? She was the closest thing he could find to me.

Now she stood in front of me, furious, practically shaking with rage.

"You bitch," she hissed. "You know Alex is head over heels for me, so you carved up your face to look like mine, thinking you could take my place, didn't you?"

Her tone was full of venom, but since she clearly had no idea who I really was, I let the slap slide. For now.

I took a breath and warned her, calm but serious, "You shouldn't be here. None of you should. Leave now, before Alexander gets back. If he sees you here, no one will be able to save you."

Olivia didn't take it well.

"Save me?" she spat, yanking my hair so hard my neck snapped sideways. "Alex is my man. I go where I damn well please. You're just trying to get rid of me so I don't ruin your pathetic little plan. But I see right through you, you two-faced homewrecker."

Then, without warning, she kicked me, hard.

I hit the ground with a thud, my head slamming against a jagged rock. Blood trickled down my forehead as I blinked through the pain.

Touching the sticky warmth on my brow, I looked up at her, voice low and cold.

"You really think Alexander won't lose his mind when he finds out what you've done?"

Olivia just scoffed.

"Please. I'm the one he's been searching for all these years. If I so much as scrape my knee, he freaks out. You think he'd care about you? You're nothing but a glitch in the system."

Her friends cackled behind her.

"Exactly! Everyone knows Mr. Holt fell for Olivia the second he laid eyes on her. You're just some sad little knockoff."

"She probably thought looking like Olivia would make her a threat. Pathetic."

"Let's show her what happens to girls who try to steal Mr. Holt!"

Their eyes were sharp, feral, like a pack of wolves circling a wounded deer.

I met their glares without flinching. My voice steady, I said, "You should ask Alexander who I really am."

Olivia scoffed again, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

"You think I'd waste my time asking about a plastic surgery clone like you?" she taunted. "I'm Alex's true love. And my family basically owns half the Holt empire. You? You're nobody."

Then her eyes narrowed, dark with cruelty.

"Strip her. Let's see if she copied my body too."

The girls didn't hesitate, they lunged at me, clawing at my clothes.

I struggled, trying desperately to hold my shirt together, my voice hoarse with panic as I shouted,

"Stop! I'm Alexander's wife!"
