My Three Elite Brothers Shattered After My Death

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The three brothers swiftly escorted Sophia back to the living room.

Before Sophia could launch into another dramatic performance, Alexander immediately grabbed his phone.

"Lock down all of Evelyn Montgomery's accounts immediately."

"Pull every financial record from the past seventy-two hours. And sweep through all our parents' former estates."

"I want a full report on her movements and expenditures during this period."

After delivering these icy commands, Alexander abruptly ended the call.

Once the financial records were compiled, he'd have concrete evidence of my whereabouts over the past three days.

Then he'd make me pay dearly for my actions!

A bitter chuckle escaped me. Alexander seemed to have conveniently forgotten.

When his corporation had nearly collapsed after that disastrous merger last year, when shareholders were abandoning ship left and right—

It was me who'd liquidated every asset to keep his company afloat.

Every trust fund my brothers had ever given me. Every property inheritance from our parents.

Now, beyond my identity, what resources did I truly possess?

Nathaniel scanned the vacant living room with a derisive snort:

"Evelyn's crossed the line this time. While we were tending to Sophia's recovery, instead of suffering alongside us, she was out gallivanting."

"I'll have my team check every recording studio in the city. She'd better not be hiding there, trading on my connections."

Benjamin's expression darkened as he growled:

"My art collectives will be searched too. She might be holed up in one of those."

Alexander's lips curled in cold satisfaction. "Let's see how far she can run now."

"We'll drag her back to beg Sophia's forgiveness!"

With this declaration, Nathaniel and Benjamin stormed out, leaving Sophia with Alexander.

My spectral form lingered near Alexander—perhaps because my physical body remained closest to him.

Sophia watched our brothers depart, her eyes flashing with venom toward where I'd stood.

She collapsed dramatically into Alexander's arms.

"Perhaps Evelyn still believes I'm unworthy of being your sister."

"Should I leave? I could return when I've proven myself deserving..."

"Then maybe Evelyn would stop tormenting me?"

Her crocodile tears splashed onto Alexander's designer cuff.

Alexander gently brushed them away, murmuring tenderly:

"Don't speak nonsense, Sophia. When we find her, we'll make her grovel at your feet!"

"From today onward, with us protecting you, she'll never harm you again!"

Sophia buried her face in his chest—the perfect picture of vulnerability—though I caught the triumphant gleam in her eyes.

I lunged to kick her, but of course, my foot passed uselessly through her form.

Just then, Alexander's phone buzzed. A predatory smile twisted his lips.
