Chapter 19 Will He Come After Her?

Chapter 19 Will He Come After Her?

After bickering for a while, Christopher Holt finally told Sophia Holt everything that had happened recently.

Sophia was stunned. A bionic robot modeled after her?

Was Ethan Vanderbilt out of his mind?

"That's beyond twisted."

Christopher chuckled. "Don't worry. He's been committed to a psychiatric hospital. You can return home without any concerns."

With the release of that film, Sophia's fame skyrocketed. Offers from domestic directors poured in, and her return to Oceanview City was already scheduled.

Christopher made sure to wake up early to pick her up at the airport.

Like a joyful bird, she flung herself into his arms.

The impact struck straight at Christopher's heart. He swept her up in a princess carry, and the striking couple immediately made headlines across Oceanview City.

Vanderbilt Group Headquarters

Daniel Vanderbilt smashed a glass in fury.

He knew Christopher and Ethan had clashed over a reality show, which was why he had taken the initiative to deal with Ethan to curry favor with the Holt family.

But instead of agreeing to collaborate with the Vanderbilts, that sly fox Christopher had poached his business partners!

While Daniel was drowning in work, Christopher had the luxury of flaunting his new girlfriend at the airport!

Wait… Why did this woman look exactly like Sophia Roberts?

Daniel grabbed his phone for a closer look. Aside from the name—Sophia Holt instead of Sophia Roberts—her figure, face, even the beauty mark at the corner of her eye were identical.

How could two people look so alike?

This was Sophia Roberts!

He immediately ordered his secretary to gather information on Sophia Holt. When he saw the word "twin," he smirked.

He didn't care about Ethan's fate, but he was a man who never let a slight go unanswered. If Christopher had used him, he would return the favor.

Ethan had already been obsessed with chasing Sophia to America. If he found out "Sophia Roberts" had returned to Oceanview City, would he lose control and escape the psychiatric hospital?

Holt Family Villa

Grandma Holt, wearing her reading glasses, held Sophia's hand as they pored over old black-and-white photos.

"See? This was me and your grandmother. Beautiful, weren't we?"

"My greatest wish was to bring you into the Holt family and cherish you as my own granddaughter. I thought I'd never get the chance, but thankfully, this rascal finally did something right. He's always been—"

Christopher walked over with a fruit platter, clearing his throat. "Ahem, what's the gorgeous lady saying about me? Save some face for me, won't you?"

The three of them were laughing when Christopher's assistant entered hesitantly.

Christopher motioned for him to speak.

The assistant hesitated. "Mr. Holt… there's news from the psychiatric hospital. He's escaped."

Though the assistant didn't specify who he was, Sophia understood instantly.

She looked at Christopher. "Will he come after me?"

The man pulled her into his arms.

"If you don't want to see him, I won't let him anywhere near you."

In the shadows where Sophia couldn't see, a cold glint flashed in Christopher's eyes.

Ethan was already too far gone. Without help, he shouldn't have been able to escape the psychiatric hospital, let alone regain his senses.

Daniel Vanderbilt was truly despicable.

But it didn't matter. Once Emily Vanderbilt—abandoned in Africa—returned, the Vanderbilt Group would crumble.

He had sworn never to let anyone who hurt Sophia go unpunished.

Sophia nestled deeper into his embrace.

There was nothing left to say to Ethan. His affection in the past had been real, but she had also brought value to the Vanderbilt Group.

She was happy now and wanted no further ties with him.

After all his betrayals, he would never earn her forgiveness.

Grandma Holt watched the loving couple with satisfaction, already brainstorming names for her future great-grandchildren.

While the Holt household brimmed with warmth, the Vanderbilt residence was shrouded in gloom.

After the divorce, Margaret Vanderbilt had been kicked out of the mansion and forced to live in a shabby townhouse.

The first thing Ethan did upon regaining his senses was rush home, dress sharply, and gather all his valuables.

His Sophia was back! She was in Oceanview City right now! He had to see her!

Even after witnessing the ashes and suicide note, he had never believed Sophia was truly dead.

All these years, he had remained celibate, never touching another woman. When the longing became unbearable, he relied on the bionic robot for comfort.

But now, she had returned.

He would rush to her, beg for forgiveness, and remarry her!

No matter the cost, he would bring her home again!

Margaret watched her deranged son in horror before snatching the jewelry from his hands.

"Ethan Vanderbilt, have you lost your mind?! This is your sister's dowry!"
