The Dilemma of Parker

Chapter15

Richard and Parker spent over an hour speaking. Well Richard spoke and Parker listened. He didn't make excuses for his behaviour at all. He owned it, apologised over and over again and then spoke about how he would be going forward. Richard explained that he had spoken to his counsellor last night after William had called him out and he had made several appointments to deal with his hurt from when Tamia and he were together and how she just dumped him out of the blue blaming the pregnancy. Parker understood that her mother was in the wrong but when Richard explained the torment from her step father, she got why Richard had been so detached. Richard explained that that was not an excuse and how he would never forgive himself for adding to the hurt of Parker's childhood. They agreed to take things slowly with a relationship starting out as friends.

William was pacing the lobby of the hotel waiting for Parker and his dad. He was worried about his father being a total arse again. When he saw Parker walk through the rotating door he moved quickly towards her wrapping her in his embrace while whispering "are you ok? What happened?".

Richard couldn't help roll his eyes at his son for his behaviour. He understood it because he had hurt Parker right through her life and he had been wrong. But he also was glad his children got along and that Parker had someone on her side. He hated himself for contributing to her pain in childhood. "Really William? There is no need to be so dramatic" Richard argued.

"So? Are we still heading to the zoo today?" William asked hopeful he would get to bond more with Parker. Yes it was a little childish but he missed out on being her big brother growing up, he wanted to make some memories with Parker as her real brother, not just the stand in. "Isn't that a little childish?" Leon asked coming closer to the pair.

Parker swung around glaring at Leon, it was none of his business what she did anyway. "And why would you care what I do? It really has nothing to do with you" Parker spat. She was angry and wondered if this was a set up. "Parker, I just want to talk to you" Leon tried to explain. "I don't care what you want Leon, just like you didn't give a shit about me growing up" Parker spat before turning to Richard and William. "If this is a set up then screw both of you to" Parker spat ready to march out of the hotel and never look back.

"Fuck off Leon, I told you last night to go back home. Parker is my sister and we can do whatever the hell we want without your permission" William spat. "Parker, I didn't know you were going to be at the McDonald's this morning and you ran into me. I honestly didn't know he would be in the lobby when we got back" Richard stated calmly although he was dying on the inside. He didn't want Parker to take off, he only just got her to speak to him.

"Parker, I'm so sorry I hurt you. If I could change the past I would" Leon began stepping closer to his sister. Parker stepped back not wanting to be close to Leon. She didn't trust him at all. "I'm not going to hurt you Parker" Leon whispered hurt by her stepping back. "Oh my bad, you just forget about me" Parker bit back. "Ok I deserve that, but Parker we are family. I was wrong, but I deserve a chance to show you I have changed" Leon stated. Jude and Tanner were still in bed so it was his chance to help fix things and get his family back together.

Parker shook her head, "you don't deserve anything I am not willing to give. You don't decide what happens. You don't decide what is right for me and you don't decide that I have to accept you saying sorry. I am not the same little girl you all took for granted. I'm not the same Parker who allowed you all to hurt me over and over again, while I did everything to try and get you to notice me. You, your brothers, your pathetic father and your mother are nothing to me. You made sure I knew that. Go back home Leon, the only time I will ever step back into the NT is to make sure your dad is thrown in prison for what he did to me, and to make sure my mother knows she lost her only daughter because of her own actions" Parker spat before storming out of the hotel.

William chased after Parker wanting to make sure she was ok. "Parker wait up. I thought we had plans today" William called out. "Sorry Will, but walking around a zoo doesn't sound like fun now. I need to, to hit something" Parker stated quietly. "Ok" William stated trying to think of something to do with his sister.

Richard stayed watching both his children leave the hotel lobby. "Was it worth it Leon?" Richard asked. "What?" Leon asked. He knew Richard, grown up with this man like a second father and all Leon could see was disappointment in Richard's eyes. "Was it worth it? Having to ruin your sisters day again? Do you think tearing her down will get you want you want? Tell me Leon, are you here because you are sorry or are you here so your sister can take on the responsibility of looking after your mother?" Richard asked.

Leon stepped back, that was like a soccer punch to the gut. He should of been able to answer that easily, but for some reason he couldn't. Yes he was sorry he hurt Parker but wasn't he punished enough? He had had to take care of his family for a year and take care of the business. As a family the load should of been shared, but Parker had always done it all. "Now you and your brothers will get on a plane and go home. You will leave Parker alone otherwise I will rain down so much shit on you and your business, that your own children will be born with a shovel to help dig you all out of it. You all owe Parker that much" Richard spat before he headed up to his room. He would no longer allow people to treat Parker like less.1

Richard had text William to check on Parker and see what plans they had for the day. William had text back saying she wanted to hit some thing and that was all he had so far. William was begging Parker to spend the day with him, but all Parker was doing was pacing back and forward on the side walk muttering how she had to hit something. Richard had found a smash room and was booking a few sessions for himself, Parker and William. He too wanted to hit something for not seeing what was right in front of him all the time.

Once the rooms were booked Richard sent a text to William telling him to meet him at the valet parking area with Parker. He would tell them what was happening when they were together. He knew this would be good for all of them.
