The next morning at 6am Jaylan, Parker, William and Richard were on a flight to the Northern Territory. Parker had been a ball of anxiousness. Richard had organised for his lawyer to pick them up from the airport so she could speak with Parker who had her interview the following day with the police. Jaylan was trying to convince Parker to get some sleep seeing she hadn't had any sleep the night before. William was glaring at Jaylan, he was jealous that Jaylan was taking Parker's attention. It was stupid, but he only just learnt that she was his baby sister and wasn't there an unwritten law for big brothers not to like there sisters boyfriends?
"Come on Parks, lay your head down for a little bit. It's going to be a long day" Jaylan argued. Richard just smiled on happy with Parker's choice of a boyfriend. "I agree with Jaylan sweetheart, get some rest" Richard added. "Dad you are suppose to not like the boyfriend" William argued causing Parker to smile and roll her eyes.
"Will, you have had plenty of women I don't agree with, I like this one. He is good for your sister" Richard replied while pointing at Jaylan causing Parker to laugh at the shocked look on Will's face. "Dad that's not how this is suppose to go. We, as in you and me, are suppose to chase the boys away" Will argued causing both Jaylan and Parker to laugh. "The only people he should be chasing away is arsehole brothers" Parker retorted.
Richard laughed at Parker's comment. "Oh my" Richard laughed out seeing William sitting there opening and closing his mouth like he was a fish out of water. Jaylan was trying to not laugh but he couldn't help it. "You did not just call me an arsehole" William shrieked putting his hand on his chest. Parker shook her head because she hadn't called him an arsehole. "You just said dad should chase away arsehole brothers that implies you think I am arsehole" William exclaimed.
Parker laughed, "don't assume anything dear brother. It makes an ass out of you and me. I said dad should be chasing away arsehole brothers not my boyfriends. You assumed it was about you. Wait! I have three other brothers who are all assholes. You thought I was speaking about you. That means you are either very vain or you think you are being an arsehole by saying dad has to chase away Jaylan" Parker argued.
"Check and mate brother" Jaylan laughed out when Will hadn't said anything back to Parker. He sat there stunned. "Sweetheart, you sure you want to be a midwife and not a lawyer?" Richard laughed. "I'm good thanks, I rather help bring people into the world then screw people over" Parker replied. Richard nodded smiling at how comfortable Parker was joking around with Will and him. He was truly grateful she had allowed him the chance to be in her life. "Now young lady, it's time for you to get some sleep. Don't think I didn't notice you pacing the floors last night" Richard stated pointing at Parker who looked sheepish. Parker nodded her head and then lent onto Jaylan's shoulder trying to get a little comfortable so she could have a quick nap.
Parker had slept the entire flight without waking. Jaylan had not moved the entire flight so he didn't disturb her and Richard and William had been thankful for that. They knew that it was going to be a rough few days for her. Parker was nervous as she got off the plane and all three men could tell immediately with the changes in the way Parker walked and was watching her surroundings.
The minute that William turned his phone back on he was assaulted with messages. Some from Leon, some from Tanner and 2 from Jude. Jude had given him details of the funeral to pass on to Parker. The last message from Jude was telling him to make sure Parker was ok because of what Leon and Tanner had been saying. Jude had said they had managed to get Parker's number from there uncle who had taken it from his wife's phone when she was cooking breakfast for them all.
Parker went to turn her phone on but Will grabbed it from her. "Parker, you don't want to turn that on" William stated. "What?" Parker replied. "Your brothers have your number now. If they are bombarding me with crap, then I can guarantee that they are messaging you. Let dad and me have your phone and we will block them and get rid of the messages" William begged.
Parker didn't think, she just handed her phone to William while Jaylan pulled her into his chest. "It can't be that bad?" Richard question before taking Parker's phone and turning it on. Over 150 messages came through. Some were from Cheryl which Richard ignored but the ones from the three numbers that were not saved, Richard opened. There was one from Jude saying he hoped Parker was ok and apologising for the other two.
Richard was becoming more angry as he saw the messages that had come through, especially the ones from Leon demanding she return home where she belonged. Apparently her time in Sydney was up and it was her job now to care for the family. Richard blocked Tanner's number and just as he went to block Leon he called Parker's phone. Richard walked away from his kids and answered the phone. "You listen to me Leon, you do not get to speak to my daughter like that. Your father has a lot to answer for, allowing you to treat females that way. I'm telling you now Leon it doesn't fly with me" Richard spat out.
"Richard why have you got Parker's phone?" Leon asked. "Because I won't allow you or your brothers to spew your vile, toxic shit at Parker any more. I will get my lawyer involved if I have to" Richard threatened. "Richard, she is our sister and needs to be home where she belongs. We allowed her her freedom when mum was unwell, but now..." Leon stated before Jude was heard in the background. "Shut the fuck up Leon. She owes us nothing. Parker isn't our possession" Jude fumed out. "Listen to your brother Leon and stopped contacting Parker" Richard stated before hanging up the phone and heading back over to his children.
