The Ex-Wife's Escape: From Betrayal to Revenge

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Isabella Taylor's sobbing came to an abrupt halt.

She jerked her head up, tears still streaking her face.

"What did you say?"

Her voice trembled.

"You don't love me?"

"How could you not love me!"

Suddenly, Isabella lunged at Ethan Johnson like a madwoman, her nails digging deep into his arm.

She had given him everything—her youth, her dignity, even betraying her own family.

And now he dared to say he didn’t love her?

Ethan stared coldly at her twisted expression, reminded of the hysterical woman next door.

He gripped her chin roughly.

"Are you worthy?"

"If Sophia could bear children, do you think you'd still be alive?"

"You should have died the night you crawled into my bed."

That night at the gala, he had drunk too much.

Sophia despised the smell of alcohol.

So he had slept in the guest room.

When he woke, Isabella lay naked beside him.

His first instinct had been to silence her permanently.

But then the Taylors called, pushing for marriage.

And Sophia... couldn’t conceive.

A twisted idea flashed through his mind.

Let Isabella bear his child.

Then send her abroad.

Raise the baby as his and Sophia’s.

The plan had been perfect.

Until today.

Isabella's hands fell limply to her sides.

She had always assumed Ethan was obsessed with her body.

The Taylors had over a dozen illegitimate children.

She had known since childhood—

In wealthy families, love was the cheapest currency.

So she had used her body as leverage.

Later, he treated her better.

Even began neglecting Sophia for her.

She grew greedy.

She wanted status. She wanted everything.

Now he was telling her—

She was nothing but a breeding tool.

Ethan’s voice was ice.

"Get the procedure done tomorrow."

Since Sophia was gone,

this child was no longer necessary.

Isabella's head snapped up.

"No!"

"This is your flesh and blood!"

She clung desperately to his leg—

This baby was her only lifeline.

Ethan shoved her aside and turned to leave.

Isabella stumbled after him.

Then her legs gave out.

Blood trickled down her thighs,

staining the floor crimson.

"Save... the baby..."

She curled into herself, writhing in pain.

If only she hadn’t provoked Sophia...

If only she hadn’t been so greedy...

But there were no second chances.

Ethan paused at the door.

"Call a doctor."

"Just make sure she doesn’t die."
