The Twin

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

"He's here."

Those words sent an odd feeling through me, it was rather unsettling. I nodded, not bothering to say another word. I kissed my hand and gently touched Dominic's grave, smiling a little.

"Goodbye, love," I whispered.

I then followed my beta inside, preparing myself to meet Dominic's twin. The pack seemed anxious, their eyes reflecting fear as they whispered a name foreign to my ears. My eyes scanned the gathered crowd, searching for this unknown male. It didn't take me long, that familiar face instantly caught my eye. I furrowed my eyebrows at the hood that covered half of his face. I grew curious about it, silently wondering why he was covering his features.

"What is his name?" I whispered in my beta's ear.

He glanced at me, "Vincent."

"Vincent," I said, stopping before the tall man.

He didn't move, he stood completely still with his hands behind his back. His perfect lips twitched a little, drawing my eyes towards his perfect jawline.

"Luna," he greeted coldly.

"I—

"I'm now the Alpha, meaning you are mine?" He mused, cutting me off.

I blanched, "Excuse me?"

"I hate repeating myself, I know you heard me."

His voice was deeper than Dominic's and a little raspier. I swallowed, shocked by the difference in his personality. I now know I was a fool for believing he would be anything like his brother.

"I don't belong to you," I sneered.

He tilted his head as his lips morphed into a smirk, "When one twin dies....the other gets the mate."

"You're nothing like him..." I murmured.

"Of course not, I only share the same features. But I'm not a coward, unlike him."

"He wasn't a coward."

He chuckled, "I beg to differ."

"Somebody should have warned me of your arrogance," I snapped.

"Well, that would have ruined the surprise. You're not a smart wolf, Olivia."

I clenched my jaw as he turned towards the stunned pack, he suddenly smiled as he walked up to a young woman.

"I could easily replace you, Olive," He smirked, facing me.

I glared at him, daring him to take her with him right now. He only shrugged and came towards me. A gasp escaped my lips as he gently grabbed my jaw.

"You don't remember me," he suddenly said softly.

I furrowed my eyebrows at the pain carefully laced through his words. He frowned and pulled away, his hand falling to his side.

"You just completely forgot," he growled.

I blinked, "I....what?"

He shook his head, "I'm going to rest...oh, this is for you. You gave it to me before I left."

My eyes widened as he held out a necklace, the one I handed to Dominic many years ago. I gently took it from him, jumping from surprise at the sensation of his hand.

"You really are a fool..." he mumbled before walking away.

I couldn't take my eyes off the necklace, I tried wrapping my mind around how he had it. I thought I had given it to Dominick that night, making him promise to return it to me.

"Olivia, you okay?" My beta's voice brought me out of my thoughts and back into the reality of my situation.

I gulped, "Olive....the necklace...only Dominic called me that and held this necklace. He told me he kept it in his room...I...I don't understand."

"You will once the shock wears off, you must rest now. You have had a terrible week."

I silently followed him upstairs, feeling puzzled and honestly, quite stupid. I eyed my beta's back as I followed him through the halls, questioning if he knew something I didn't. However, I decided against asking him, I instead nodded and walked towards my bedroom. I closed the large oak doors behind me, letting out a sigh.

A rather alarming thought taunted me, swimming around in my overwhelmed head as I gently placed the necklace on my nightstand.

Was Dominick not who I thought he was?
