Dumps Me, So His Homie Snatches Me Up

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

So that was it.

I don't know what Rachel had told Mrs. Chen.

Mrs. Chen looked at me with disdain.

"These days, any pretty young thing is eager to be a mistress," she said.

"Clearly it's for money, but they claim it's for love."

She turned and affectionately took Rachel's hand.

"You're just too kind-hearted. That's why people bully you," she said to Rachel.

Then Mrs. Chen turned back to me, her eyes full of disgust, completely different from how she looked at Rachel.

I suddenly remembered some gossip my mom had mentioned about Mrs. Chen before.

Apparently Mr. Chen had an illegitimate son outside, and wanted to bring him back to inherit the family business.

No wonder she hated me so much.

It seems she had taken Rachel's words and thought I was a mistress.

"Mrs. Chen, the necklace is indeed with me, but I didn't take it," I said.

I looked up at Rachel across from me.

"Someone deliberately spilled wine on me, then planted the necklace in my dress. Isn't that right, Miss Lin?"

Mrs. Chen looked at Rachel beside her.

She was already quite shrewd. After hearing my words, how could she not guess what had happened?

But she must truly despise mistresses.

Mrs. Chen acted as if she hadn't heard me at all, and directly called security over saying I had stolen something.

In an instant, everyone's eyes were on me.

"Isn't that your ex-girlfriend?"

"Stealing? How did someone like that get in here?"

"Kevin, aren't you going to help your girl?"

...

Kevin's friends all turned to speak to him when they saw it was me.

"Beg me and I might," Kevin said.

His attitude was completely different from Henry's.

Thinking of this, I couldn't help but look around for Henry.

But I couldn't find him anywhere.

Rachel leaned in close to me and laughed coldly.

"Looking for Henry?" she asked.

"He left ages ago. It was just a game. Don't tell me you took it seriously?"

Caught off guard, Rachel suddenly grabbed me.

"Sophia, even if you liked the necklace, you shouldn't have stolen it," she said loudly.

"This was Mrs. Chen's wedding anniversary gift."

Rachel held up the necklace like she was presenting a treasure, handing it to Mrs. Chen.

I couldn't stand it anymore.

I slapped Rachel hard across the face.

"Shut up. You're so annoying," I said.

Rachel fell to the ground dramatically. The people around looked surprised.

Especially Kevin.

"I didn't take the necklace. I've already called the police," I told Mrs. Chen calmly, loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.

When the police arrived, they found that the security footage showing me had been erased.

For the moment, there was no evidence to prove my innocence.

At some point, Kevin had walked to my side.

"Beg me and I'll help you," he said.

As if he was doing me a favor.

The next second, I was pulled into a warm embrace.

Before I could react, a voice came from above my head.

"The evidence is right here. I just had someone recover the deleted data," Henry said.

So that's where he had disappeared to earlier - he went to recover the video footage for me.

"You can see clearly who took the necklace," he continued.

He paused for a moment.

"Also... this person bribed the Chen family's maid to frame my girlfriend."

"Mr. Chen, it's up to you how to handle this."

Rachel sat on the ground, all her earlier smugness gone.

Mrs. Chen was pulled aside by Mr. Chen and scolded.

"Aren't you ashamed of yourself?" he said.

He pointed at a young man's nose nearby and berated him.

"Your mother causes trouble, and you don't even try to stop her. I think I'll just hand the company over to Chen Che in the future."

Mrs. Chen cried sorrowfully, trying desperately to explain to Mr. Chen.

Although I disliked Mr. Chen's actions, it wasn't my business.

She clearly knew the necklace wasn't taken by me, but still helped Rachel.

Just as the police were about to take Rachel away, she hurriedly stood up and went over to Kevin.
