I Plan My Death While He Bangs the Nanny

Chapter 10: Acceptance in Grief

Chapter 10: Acceptance in Grief

Ethan Foster froze. When realization struck, a derisive laugh escaped his thin lips.

"Who taught you this scam? It's utterly ridiculous. I warn you, get out now. If you dare curse Sophia again, I'll make sure you regret it!"

His Sophia would never jump into the sea. His precious girl, the one he cherished above all, how could she take her own life?

The man sighed. "I know this is hard to accept, but we have photos and evidence."

He handed over the images: surveillance footage of Sophia walking into the ocean, and her last pair of shoes left behind.

Ethan's pupils constricted. The shock hit him like a tidal wave, igniting fury.

"Get out! Now!"

He stomped on the photos. "Your wife is the one who's dead! Sophia is fine, she's perfectly fine!"

Like a madman, he stormed up to the second floor.

But the sight before him brought him to a halt.

Their once-shared room stood empty.

The wardrobe, the vanity, every trace of Sophia had vanished.

In that instant, the memory of Sophia's devastated eyes from last night flashed through his mind.

Ethan's strength drained away.

"How… How could this happen…?"

He clutched his head, his eyes burning red.

A staff member placed Sophia's phone in front of him.

"This was found in a trash can outside The Plaza Hotel."

Ethan stiffened. "What did you say? Where was this found?"

"The Plaza Hotel."

The very place he had taken Emily.

So after he left with Emily, Sophia had turned off her phone… and decided to end her life?

But why? Just because he abandoned her?

Suddenly, another memory surfaced, Sophia standing by the shore that day.

Her frail silhouette, her eyes brimming with longing for freedom.

She had said, "Ethan Foster, if you betray me, I'll disappear where you'll never find me. I mean it."

Back then, he hadn't taken it seriously, assuming her grief was over the loss of their dog, Noah. But now, faced with her empty closet and her final, irreversible act…

Could it be…?

Dread coiled in his chest.

Hands trembling, he picked up the phone. When the screen unlocked, he saw it,

Every message Emily had sent her.
