Married to the Billionaire by Chance

Chapter 40 Are You Out of Your Mind?

Chapter 40 Are You Out of Your Mind?

Maybe her smile was so bright that Jovanny's eyes turned soft.

He nodded. "Yes."

Looking at his gentle expression, Gracelyn avoided his gaze quickly. "Go ... go back!"

As soon as the two sat on the scooter and were about to leave, a shabby car stopped in front of them and blocked their way.

"Jovanny, Gracelyn, hello!"

Nolan's head poked out of the window as he greeted them with a smile.

When Jovanny heard his voice, his face sank. But when he saw Nolan driving a shabby car, his face turned bright.

It was unknown where Nolan found this car, but the white car was covered with layers of dust. It could be told that it hadn't been washed for at least five years.

The bumper was gone, and it seemed that it would fall apart at any time.

Gracelyn hit the brake quickly and greeted him, "It's you! Why are you here?"

"I'm here to collect rubbish. I didn't expect to see you here."

Nolan was talking nonsense. He changed his car and even changed into blue overalls. He was dressed like a sheer rag man now.

Jovanny didn't expect Nolan to take his words seriously.

"Are you heading home to cook? I haven't eaten yet. Gracelyn, do you mind if I eat at your home?"

Jovanny was about to refuse him when Gracelyn smiled, "Of course not! I'm heading home to cook. I'll lead the way. You can follow me."

"Great!"

Nolan winked at Jovanny in the back seat as if asking him whether he was a good actor.

Jovanny stared at him speechlessly.

Someone had nothing to do every day. Nolan was no exception. Cosplay was a funny game for him.

Soon, Gracelyn arrived at her house. When she got off the scooter with the groceries, she turned her head and said to the two men, "Jovanny, I'll go up and cook. Take him to our house."

"OK."

When Gracelyn left, Jovanny's expression totally changed.

Nolan got out of his car happily and walked to Jovanny. Seeing his icy eyes, Nolan stopped smiling.

"Jovanny, why do you look at me like that?"

"Are you out of your mind?" Jovanny asked.

"You're out of your mind. You said that I'm a rag man. If I drive my Ferrari here, will you be happy? Jovanny, be polite to me! Or else I'll expose you."

Jovanny turned to leave gloomily.

Nolan followed him. "Jovanny, what do you want to do? Why do you hide your identity from her? Are you looking for true love?"

Jovanny paused in his tracks and glanced at Nolan.

Nolan took a few steps back. "Did I say anything wrong?"

Jovanny didn't answer him. Instead, he leaned against the wall at the staircase, groped for a cigarette, and lit it. His expression was unfathomable.

In the beginning, he was worried that Gracelyn was a money worshipper and that Philip would be bamboozled by her. He didn't want such a woman to take advantage of him.

But since he began to know Gracelyn, he felt that she wasn't the type he had imagined.

Nolan's words made him recall the scene when Gracelyn was doing grocery shopping.

They didn't grow up in the same environment. She was like a lotus rising from the mud. She should live in a pool and bloom as she liked.

If a lotus was transplanted to another place, it was like a square peg in a round hole, withering in the end.

Jovanny could tell that if he told her the truth, she might feel overjoyed, indicating that she was a money worshipper.

Or she might keep a distance from him, though she didn't blame him for lying to her.

At least she wouldn't ride her scooter to pick him up at his company.

She wouldn't say many trivial matters for him to listen to either.

Thinking of that, Jovanny was stunned. Did he really enjoy being picked up at his company? Did he really enjoy listening to her talking about trivial matters? How come?

"What are you thinking?" Nolan waved his hand before Jovanny's eyes.

Jovanny came back to his senses, dropped the butt to the ground, and put it out with his foot. "Nothing. Let's go up."

Nolan scratched his head in confusion, not knowing why Jovanny was worried.

Gracelyn was still cooking at Philip's house. After all, there was a guest. She couldn't bring Nolan to Brandon's house in case Laurie was unhappy.

Philip didn't know Nolan, but he was still hospitable.

After finishing cooking, Gracelyn served the dishes. "Let's eat."

Nolan was articulate. He chatted with Philip, making him grin from ear to ear.

The four of them sat by the table. Nolan stood up and filled their glasses with beverages.

"Jovanny has been back for a while. It is the first time that I have had dinner with him. Philip, Jovanny, Gracelyn, I propose a toast to all of you."

Philip was beaming with a smile. "Good boy! I'm curious how you made friends with such a boring person like Jovanny?"

Nolan gulped at his beverage and forked a dish.

"I shared the same dormitory with him. But he's not a boring person. He is sharp-tongued. Many girls took a fancy to him but ended up crying. Gracelyn is a good cook. This dish is laden with the taste of home."

Gracelyn's hand paused. It wasn't because Nolan praised her but because many girls bared their hearts to Jovanny.

She asked tentatively, "He refused to accept their love confession?"

"Yes! To be honest, if you weren't married, I would have thought that he was gay."

Gracelyn's heart sank. She knew why she married Jovanny. It wasn't because of love.

She stole a glance at Jovanny, only to find that he was eating attentively.

But she still couldn't believe that Jovanny was gay and asked, "Is he more friendly with males?"

Nolan tilted his head and said, "Yes. I'm a good example. If it were in the past, he would scold a girl crying if she was in hot pursuit.

"We have some other friends. Tell him to make your acquaintance someday."

Gracelyn suddenly felt all the dishes were tasteless.

She grabbed the fork and stirred the food on her plate with a heavy heart.

"Why don't you eat?"

Gracelyn came back to her senses and forced a smile. "I'm eating. Make yourself feel at home."

"Thank you. These dishes taste so good. Can I eat here often?"

"Of course. You can come at any time."

Philip echoed, "You can come here directly. I don't know how to cook. But we have so much to talk about."

Nolan laughed and served a dish onto Philip's plate. "If I come here every day, please don't mind me bothering you."

Philip was amused by his words.

Gracelyn wondered, "I have to have a good talk with Jovanny."
