"Don't you think you should cover up?" Sian spat out at me. "Nope I'm good thanks" I replied. "Well, there are people here who don't want to see you undressed. There are men present and it's not appropriate" Sian said fuming and looking between her fiance then turned to Joshua and Lucas who had approached us by now and said, "Don't you think you should make your sister get dressed? I don't need my fiance seeing her like that".
"First off they have no say in anything I do at all and secondly if your fiance is looking at me he should fuck right off seeing I'm still underage. Back off Sian I won't allow you to walk all over me anymore. I grew a backbone" I spat at her. By this stage, everyone was looking at us. Bryson was smiling like he had won the lottery. Harley and Levi looked proud of me. I had told them all about Sian and what she was like when we were growing up. Aunty Amelia and Uncle Mark were watching Sian's fiance, and my father and brothers were looking at me. Sian looked like she was going to throw a temper tantrum. "What are those scars on your shoulder and hip" Ethan asked. "I told you already, juvie. Not my problem you didn't believe me" I replied. You have to love family drama. No one was going to call Sian out on her bullshit at all. "Matilda why don't you go put a shirt on" Uncle Mark said. You got to be fucken kidding me. I just shook my head. Fuck the lot of them.
I turned walking towards my bag grabbing my dress and slipping it on. I wasn't staying around, this was bullshit. Once again Sian was able to get away with her behaviour and no one called her out. Then all attention was put on my body and I was told to cover up. Fuck this I'm out.
Levi and Harley came towards me seeing as I was gathering myself and started doing the same. Bryson and Jason came over to find out what was going on and I explained I was leaving. I wasn't going to stand around and let Sian say shit anymore and I wasn't going to watch as my family ignore it like nothing happened. Sian was always the princess where I was one of the boys so she was never pulled up on a thing except for when my mum was around.
Once again, I wasn't worth my family fighting for me. Bryson stormed over to them as we packed up the rest of the stuff. "You are a fucken bitch Sian. As for you all, Tilly is leaving because none of you called Sian out for her shit" Bryson yelled pointing at Sian while glaring at everyone else. "Do you realise how you make her feel? You want a relationship with Tilly yet still treat her like that. I'm going out with Tilly for lunch enjoy the bbq".
Bryson and Jason grabbed their stuff and we all headed to Bryson's car. "Bry, I am so sorry. You don't need to leave. This is for you," I said. "No Tilly it's not your fault. They need to know what they are doing is not ok. I'm sorry for not saying something sooner. I guess we all..., fuck, Tilly I didn't mean to make you feel you weren't worth fighting for" Bryson said before pulling me into a hug. I hugged Bryson back and thanked him for standing up for me.
Jason, Levi and Harley had stayed quiet until Levi tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to Joshua, Lucas and Ethan who had walked towards us. "Stay Bry, we will just go" I whispered. Bryson shook his head and unlocked his car for us all. "Matilda, can we talk to you?" Joshua said. I just slipped into the car with everyone else. I wasn't going to give them the time of day. They can go fuck themselves. I was hurt and wanted to be away from them. Bryson took us to Jason's house where we had our BBQ.
It has been a week since Bryson's birthday bbq and I had refused to go to the family therapy sessions. I didn't want to see my so-called family. There was nothing to say to them. I had also avoided all the calls from them and their texts. Bryson and I meet up every day. We mainly hit the gym and then went to the beach. He told me my family had been bombarding him with calls and texts to see if he had heard from me. His parents were upset he left his BBQ and apparently Sian had a meltdown when we left saying I was ungrateful and rude.
