The Dilemma of Parker

Chapter28

"Where the hell would she run to?" William asked. He felt so bad for letting his sister down. "No idea. Maybe call Jude, he took off after her, hopefully she is safe" Richard stated. "I'm sorry I let Parker down. I didn't want her step father seeing her as weak" Jaylan mumbled.

Jude had crawled into the small space that Parker was in. "Parker, it's Jude" Jude whispered not wanting to scare his sister. Parker had fallen asleep, well crashed after the panic attack more like it. When Jude didn't hear Parker acknowledge him, he crawled into the space which looked cozy and headed to where the lump of pillows and blankets were curled up in the corner. "Parker, I just want to check you are ok" Jude whispered as he got closer to the lump.

Jude took a deep breath scared of what he would see when he lifted the blanket. Jude carefully took the blanket off spotting Parker asleep with tears running down her face. "Oh Parks, I'm so sorry baby sis. I'm sorry I never protected you" Jude whispered before placing a kiss on her forehead and wiping the tears running down her face.

Jude's phone began to vibrate in his pocket. He grabbed it out seeing it was William calling. He didn't want to answer because he knew Richard and William would come and take Parker from him again. He wanted to be the one to make Parker feel safe as selfish as that was. Jude answered the call reluctantly. "Will, she is safe. I'm with her and she is asleep. She is under the stairs at Ninny's old place. Fuck she must have come here a lot" Jude whispered not wanting to disturb his sister. "We are on our way" William replied before hanging up and telling Richard where to go.

Jude sat right next to Parker continuing to rub the tears that kept running down her face. He made promises to her that he should of done years ago. He apologised for all the things he hadn't seen and savoured the moment with his sister not knowing if that was the last time he would ever see her again.

Parker began to thrash around and scream in her sleep. She was having a flash back of the beating she got just before her 18th birthday. Jude was trying to wake his sister. He didn't know what was happening at all. "Parker, you are safe. It's just a dream wake up please" Jude begged. He hated seeing his sister like this. Richard and William heard the screaming as they pulled up and jumped out of the car wanting to get to Parker. Jaylan stayed in the car knowing Parker wouldn't want to see him at the moment.

Parker's eyes flew open looking at Jude like a scared little girl. She use to do that sometimes when she was younger. "Parks, it's me Jude, you are safe. I won't let him hurt you again" Jude stated firmly trying to show Parker he wasn't a threat. Parker threw herself into Jude's chest and sobbed. Richard pulled the door open that lead under the stairs and saw Parker sobbing. He wanted nothing more then to reach for his daughter and wrap her in his arms but the moment she saw him she tried to back away and screamed. "Parker" Richard whispered but it didn't help. Jude held onto Parker, "you are safe Parker, I won't let anyone hurt you ever again".

It took close to two hours to get Parker out from under the stairs. The funeral had been and gone and Jude and Parker were not present to bury there mother. Leon and Tanner had called Jude non stop to find out where he was, each call went unanswered. He was to concerned about Parker who wouldn't let go of him even when Will and Richard had tried to get her out of the safe space.

Jaylan had stayed back even after Richard and Will had asked him to come and help get Parker. He didn't want to upset her more then he already had. When they had managed to get Parker out of the space she still clung to Jude like he was her life line. Jude wanted to love the fact Parker felt safe with him, but he knew it was because she wasn't in the right frame of mind at the moment. "Parker we won't hurt you" Will whispered. He was upset his sister thought he would hurt her but he was more upset with himself for not realising that Parker needed support and he hadn't given it to her. He had been so shocked with what Tyson was sprouting that he focused on that and not what was important.

Parker wouldn't look at anymore, she was embarrassed and felt lost all over again. She had trusted people and they had let her down too, especially Jaylan. He had been there to support her and yet he had made her stay and listen to her step father instead of letting her run away.

"Parker, I'm so sorry I made you stay" Jaylan stated. Parker refused to look at Jaylan. "I wanted to leave, you, you made me listen" Parker mumbled. "I know and I hate that I let you down" Jaylan replied trying to get closer to Parker but she jolted away from him. Jaylan stepped back like he had been punch in the gut. "You hurt me, you promised you wouldn't. I trusted you, I trusted all of you" Parker mumbled. "We are so sorry sweetheart. I didn't think" Richard stated but Parker shook her head no. She didn't want to hear how they didn't think about her. She was always the forgotten child. "Just shut up" Parker yelled. "Jude can you take me to the airport?" mumbled Parker. She just needed to get away.
