Chapter31
Chapter31
"No offence Jude, why are you here?" Parker asked as they waited for the flight to be called. "Parker, I see you and I won't cope if you aren't in my life. I want a chance to be part of your life" Jude replied. "None of you have a right to be in my life. I don't need people in my life who chose to forget about me" Parker replied. "I didn't forget about you Parker, I never have" William stated firmly. "But do you see me? Do you actually see me as a human being? You forgot about me too. All of you did and I deserve better then that" Parker replied. "We all fucked up Parker but I want to earn your forgiveness" William stated. "Parker, I broke your trust and I'll forever be sorry for that" Jaylan added.
Parker didn't know if she could allow them in. They had all hurt her in there own way. "Parker, let's start as friends again" William stated. He wanted a connection to his sister and he felt like he was losing her for good. He just needed her to allow him into her life in some way and then earn her forgiveness. Parker remembered her Ninny saying forgiveness is a strength not a weakness. "Ok friends and that goes for all of you" Parker stated looking towards everyone including Jaylan. She knew she couldn't be in a relationship without trust and each and everyone here had broken her trust. None of them could argue that they deserved more so readily agreed.1
Epilogue
Today Parker was graduating with honours. She had finished her degree and spent a year on country delivering babies and learning more on women's business from Elders at Uluru. She was vomiting this morning and was not sure why. Well she had a feeling and her boyfriend Simon was out getting a pregnancy test as she sat against the wall in the gadigal centre.
When she had got back to Sydney after her mothers funeral, her and Jaylan had broken up. She couldn't trust him at all anymore. They were friends now though and he was here with his wife and the little boy Parker helped to deliver. Jaylan had made a promise to Parker that he would be at her graduation so she wouldn't have to go through another celebration alone. He had made that promise even before they were dating. Ag tree r he let her down at her mother's funeral he never had let her down again.
"Parker calm down" Jaylan stated. "You know these people, why are you so nervous?" Jaylan asked while his wife Jonie just smiled. "Are you?" Jonie asked and Parker looked up at her with wide eyes. "Oh my gosh Parker, that's amazing news" Jonie squealed. Jaylan was confused as was Matt who had come to check on Parker. Her father Richard, Will and his partner Karmel, Jude and his baby daughter Talia were all looking for Parker, yet she was hiding in a room looking like she wanted to vomit. Parker had only got back to Sydney three days ago and hadn't seen her family yet thinking she had a stomach bug. Richard still split his time between Sydney and the NT.
Simon came running into the gadigal centre with a bag containing three pregnancy tests. Simon was an obgyn that Parker had met on country while there for her first placement for uni. They had hit it off straight away and she always asked to go on placement in Uluru. Simon and Parker became an offical couple just over a year ago when she moved there for her final year of uni. She hadn't told her father, William or Jude yet. They had been extra protective of her after they returned to Sydney after Tamia's funeral.
Things had been rocky for the family when they returned. Parker had no trust in her father and had gone back to calling him Richard. William and her were back to normal in a few months but he was protective of her especially after Jaylan took off. He had chased away many boyfriends and Parker didn't want him chasing away Simon. Jude and Parker became close and had set up a program through the company they owner that helped with uni costs. They sponsored Aboriginal students to study as university. Parker wanted all children to be able to attend uni regardless of financial circumstances. Parker and Jude worked closely with the gadigal centre and awarded 10 scholarships a year to Aboriginal students to study and relocate to Sydney. They also worked with uni's in the NT to offer pathway programs and internships. Jude was in charge and Parker just sat on the board. Most of her profit from the original company was funnelled into the scholarship program as she didn't want to profit from anything that was connected to her so called mother.
Jude had stayed in Sydney hating the NT just as much as Parker did. When Parker did her final year of placement in Uluru, he returned to the NT along with Richard and William. They all would follow Parker to the ends of the earth. Although Richard did spend a lot of time in Sydney.
Jude had kept in contact with Leon and Tanner, they were not close. Jude was closer to Parker then to his brothers. Leon and Tanner tried to get close to Parker but still wanted her back in the NT permanently, working at the company and tried to control what she did. Leon was proud of Parker for making it on her own though. Tanner was the worst of the brothers and expected women to do as they were told and expressed that opinion often.
