Chapter 11
Dark storm clouds rolled through the sky, blowing it's chilling breath across our fields as the trees groaned in protest. Leaves played through the air, twirling with the caresses of the storm. I silently sat out on the back porch, my heart beating with excitement. Dominic had stopped me from doing one of the things I had enjoyed the most, watching a thunderstorm. I smiled, completely relaxed, knowing he wouldn't come out yelling this time. My fingers curled around my mug, the blanket wrapped around me like a cocoon. Vincent was tucked away inside, sleeping with his headphones in and his music keeping him calm. Brayden was sitting by his bedroom door, just in case Vincent somehow knocks the headphones from his ears.
Over the course of the past three days, Vincent was beginning to warm up to Brayden. It brought a smile to my face, knowing he was making one friend. Despite being born into the pack and growing up within it, he wasn't close to anyone. Dominic always took the spotlight, using his twisted humor to become everyone's entertainment. Vincent was more of the shy one, quiet and reserved. He would always study for school, workout, practice his fighting, and watch his father perform his alpha duties. I felt bad for him, but at the same time, I was glad he didn't copy his older brother. He's his own person, something I love about him.
"Olivia."
I turned, facing the tall man as he stepped outside. His blue eyes were like two, icy orbs, filled with a coldness that made everyone shiver. His tall form and muscles made him intimidating, his scars making him seem dangerous. I smiled though, immediately standing up to give my father—in—law a hug.
"Is it true? Vince...he's home?" He asked, his eyes filled with unshed tears.
I nodded, "Yeah, he's sleeping right now...I don't want him to hear the thunder."
"What? Why?"
"He was in the military, he has PTSD."
He frowned, his shoulder slumping, "Did he really run because of us?
"No, Dominic...made you believe that. I don't remember everything, but....apparently Vincent and I were a thing?"
"Yes, that's why I was surprised when Dominic showed up with you by his side. When we mentioned Vince...you just stared at us with this confused look. Did you hit your head and get amnesia?"
I shook my head, "Dominic forced me to forget, but...I don't know how. I can't remember."
Vincent's father smiled sadly, "Well, I can assure you that Vincent loves you. Julie and I have never seen him so happy during that time, his eyes just...held this brightness to them when you were together. I thought Dominic somehow beat him in a fight to claim you. I didn't know..." his father trailed off before releasing a breath. "Dominic was always jealous of Vincent's natural ability to be an Alpha. But there is always an Omega in a litter. Especially with twins."
"Why don't you and Julie get settled in?" I suggested as he yawned. "Vincent will be awake in an hour or two, he's still tired from the challenges."
"Ah, how is he healing?"
"Good, but his ribs are taking a bit longer, considering they're shattered."
"Alright, oh and Julie wants to know if you would like to go out for dinner? To celebrate our son's return."
I smiled, "I would like that."
"Do you think Vincent would be okay with it?" he asked.
"Yeah, he will. He missed you two... Dom...never mind."
His father furrowed his eyebrows, "Dom what?"
"That's for Vincent to tell you, not me."
"Hey, Vince, wake up," I cooed, gently shaking him.
"Wxvywgt..." he mumbled.
I raised an eyebrow, "That's not even a word, come on, get your ass up."
"No."
"I have a surprise for you, come on."
"Is it you in your birthday suit?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes, "No."
"Are we going to have sex?"
"What? No!"
"Then, no."
I smirked, "Fine. But some hoe by the name of May is here, stating she's pregnant."
His eyes snapped open, he glanced at me with a puzzled look, "What? But my dick was never near her! Gods damn it, she's like the motherfucking evil virgin mother! She probably fucked a demon!"
"Well, you're a demon so I wouldn't use that argument."
He flipped me off and pulled himself out of the bed, grumbling about the 'crazy bitch' the entire time. I silently laughed as I followed him downstairs, in all of his partially naked glory. However, as we passed the laundry room, I swiftly grabbed one of his pair of pants and a shirt before throwing them at him.
"Cover yourself up, there are girls looking at you," I grumbled.
He chuckled, "Yes, Luna."
When we stepped into the kitchen, he froze, his eyes widening at the sight of his parents. His mother, Julie, clapped a hand over her mouth before running towards him. She pulled him into a tight embrace, sobbing into his shirt.
"Oh my goddess..." she cried. "Oh my boy...my baby boy..."
He recovered from his shock and returned the hug, his eyes filled with his own tears. I watched the scene play out with my own smile, elated to see him finally reconnect with his parents. Well, his mother, his father continued to stand in the same spot. Vincent slowly looked up, gulping when he saw the blank expression on his father's face.
"Dad, listen, I had no—
"You fucking nugget head, get over here," his father sobbed, yanking his son against him.
Vincent winced, "My ribs!"
"Man up, fucking potato looking ass."
Julie rolled her eyes, "Seriously, why did I marry you?"
"Because you looooove me," he grinned.
Vincent chuckled, "I see dad hasn't...adopted a new vocabulary."
"Nope, he still cusses like his life depends on it."
Vincent's father, Alpha Rocco, turned and smirked, "The life of humor depends on cussing."
"And this is where Vince gets his remarks from. Honestly, just one normal child. That's all I wanted."
"Well, we did have Dom," Rocco pointed out.
Julie sighed, "He was insane, Vincent is sarcastic, smart mouthed, and idiotic like you. What about a pup like me?"
"Unless you want to get that factory up and working again, quit whining. I know it's overwhelming to deal with Vincent. But come on, the kid isn't that bad," Rocco retorted.
I folded my arms across my chest, chuckling at the bickering couple. Meanwhile, Vincent attempted to get out of his father's hold.
"So, where are we going for dinner?" I asked.
Julie grinned, "A nice restaurant, my friend Julio owns it."
Rocco frowned, "I don't like him."
"You don't like anyone."
"Do so, I like you, Vince, and Olive."
I groaned, "Olivia!"
"Nope, Olive sounds better. Anyway, I want to go get Chinese."
"We just had that for lunch," Julie frowned.
"While you two pick a place, I'm going to shower," Vincent mumbled, breaking free.
Rocco shrugged, "I say Chinese."
"Mexican."
"Chinese."
"Mexican!"
"What kind of racist bullshit is going on?" Brayden exclaimed, storming in.
"Now is our chance to escape," Vincent whispered before grabbing me by my arm.
I chuckled as he brought me to his room, ranting about food. As I sat on his bed and watched him grab an outfit, I couldn't stop smiling. For the first time, I was beginning to see him in a different way.
"Darling, if you don't control your arousal, I just may have you for dinner," he suddenly whispered, pinning me against the bed.
My cheeks heated up, "I...I...uh..."
"You drive me insane."
"Thanks, I try."
He laughed before kissing me on my lips, "I can't get enough of you."
"I can tell, your little friend is poking me," I teased.
"Little? Oh, you forgot what I felt like. Well, why don't I remind you?"
I chuckled and kissed him on the jaw, "How about, no?"
"Party pooper."
"Come on, go get ready. I have to get dressed too."
He kissed me once more before stepping into the bathroom, singing some extremely off tune song. I chuckled to myself, how did I forget such an amazing guy?
