Chapter 26 Who Can Stay The Same All The Time?
Astrid and Sherry's figure was about the same five years ago, but now Sherry's clothes are too big for her.
She opened the door and walked out, looking at Blake, who sat without saying a word. He was gloomy and frightening, but she didn’t care.
What did it matter to her?
"It's only been five years. You've changed a lot!" He said coldly and making Astrid shudder.
Astrid didn’t speak, only slightly raised her chin. She still looked like she had an elegant spirit.
Blake's cigarette rose in a dazzling smoke, and the pair of eyes looked ruthless in the white fog.
Suddenly, he decided to press out the cigarette.
When he stood up, his tall figure blocked out all the sunlight on Astrid's body.
Soon, Blake came in front of Astrid.
The face was no different from five years ago, but her eyes had changed. Her eyes were dull like stagnant water, no longer as bright and dazzling as before.
Astrid looked straight at him and calmly asked, "Mr. Ledger, who can stay the same all the time? And who can resist the cruelty of time?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, his large palm still holding her jaw, moved swiftly to the back of her head, roughly pulling her ear-length short hair!
At once, a sharp pain came from the roots of her hair!
Blake didn't care if Astrid was in pain. He compulsively pressed her down onto the cold tabletop.
"Astrid, you disgust me as always!" The ruthless words rang in her ears, "Look at the people in the picture. Aren't you scared?"
Despite being pinned down by Blake, Astrid clenched her teeth to keep her vulnerability from showing.
Looking up, she saw Blake's mother in the photo, who was sitting in the centre. Beside her was Sherry, and standing behind them was Blake, who was like an umbrella protecting the two women in his arms.
Blake’s mother, Alison Gardner, was an extremely elegant and beautiful woman, and her smile was also extremely good-looking.
She was also extremely nice to Astrid at that time.
Tears misted her eyes, and she restrained herself from crying.
"Your mother’s death has nothing to do with me. Why should I be afraid?" Astrid breathed and laughed out lightly, "You should put your mother's picture in front of Mikayla Harlem day after day to see if she will be scared and see if Alison will look for her to chase her!"
Astrid’s unrepentant words had angered Blake.
He jammed around her slender neck, and if he tightened it just a little, she would die!
"Astrid, you are unrepentant!" His handsome face was permeated with a dangerous aura.
Astrid did not resist, and she just looked at his face in silence.
Just when Astrid thought she would be choked to death, Blake let go of his hand, allowing her to catch her breath.
She saw he raised his mouth, and before Astrid could react, she heard him say, "Don't you want your daughter back? You behave well at tonight's banquet and make my clients happy, and I'll give you back your child!"
