Ex Wins $4M, Dumps Me, Then I Pull Up in My Bugatti and Flip Him the Bird

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

In the middle of a workday, I was sneaking a quick break when I overheard Savannah Moore, the office gold digger, bragging to one of her coworkers.

"My boyfriend just moved into Ridgewood Heights," she said, practically beaming.

I froze. No way. What a coincidence. My dad had bought me a place there, though I rarely stayed. Since Chase worked nearby, I'd given him a key to use whenever he worked late. I'd told him it was a rental.

And now here he was, moving in without a second thought, probably not even realizing that the rent was more than his monthly salary.

I was seriously considering taking back the keys when Savannah added, "He calls me his lucky girl. Ever since we got together, he won $4 million!"

Everyone around her gasped, practically drooling with envy.

Wait. Ridgewood Heights? $4 million? Could it be…?

I cautiously asked, "Does your boyfriend happen to be named Chase?"

Savannah shot me a suspicious look.

"You know him? Don't even think about trying to steal him just because he's rich. He's way out of your league!"

Of course it was him.

Chase had been seeing Savannah while we were still together?

Did he really think she was some upper-class goddess?

If my dad knew about this, he'd probably laugh himself to death.

Savannah flaunted fake designer bags like they were real, switching them out every single day. To Chase, who couldn't tell fake from real, Savannah probably looked like royalty.

A match made in gold-digger heaven. Seriously, perfect for each other.

Best of luck, you two. May you stay together forever.

That night, Savannah posted a picture of her and Chase on Instagram with the caption: "No more waiting. The one I've been waiting for is finally here."

Five minutes later, Chase posted the same picture with a caption so cheesy I nearly choked on my dinner: "Us."
