Ex Wins $4M, Dumps Me, Then I Pull Up in My Bugatti and Flip Him the Bird

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The next day at work, Savannah strutted around the office, making sure everyone noticed the new handbag hanging from her arm. She circled the room like a peacock, giving everyone a clear view.

It wasn't cheap, probably around $50,000. Guess Chase wasn't that stingy after all. He just didn't think I was worth his time.

"Oh, this bag?" Savannah said, twirling it like she was auditioning for a reality show. "My boyfriend insisted on buying it for me. I didn't even want it, but he just had to get it."

Coworker A sighed, practically swooning. "Your boyfriend treats you like a queen! I wish I could find a romance like that."

Coworker B agreed, "Well, Savannah's gorgeous and comes from a good family. Of course, her boyfriend's amazing. It's all about who you know."

Bingo. A broke guy and a gold digger, a match made in heaven.

Savannah sauntered over to my desk, her smile dripping with superiority. "You know, a man shows how much he loves a woman by how much he's willing to spend on her. Chase told me he never really bought you anything when you two were together. How sad."

She wasn't wrong. Chase had bought me $9.99 lipsticks, and I'd pretended to be thrilled. Meanwhile, I was the one gifting him designer stuff, clothes, shoes, always downplaying the price to make sure his fragile ego stayed intact.

I met her gaze, unbothered. "I was too young to know any better. At least I've finally ditched the trash."

I paused, eyeing her from head to toe with a smirk. "Speaking of trash, what brand of garbage bag are you? You seem to carry a lot of it around."

Her smile faltered, eyes flashing with anger. "You're just bitter because you couldn't keep Chase. He said you two weren't even in the same league. Guess he was right, huh?"
