The Dilemma of Parker

Chapter11

Chapter11

Parker sat waiting for someone to talk. Jude was busy making toast while Matt watched the entire thing wanting to be there for Parker. He did see her as his baby sister. She had turned up so closed off and all alone. When she finally opened up to him after avoiding everything for the first 6 months, he couldn't help feel protective of her.

Parker grew impatient and quickly. "If someone doesn't start talking, I am leaving and none of you will see me again" Parker spat. Maybe she needed more coffee or more sleep. "Well, 20 odd years ago, your mother and I had a relationship. Tyson and her were separated because he was off with another woman again. She apparently got pregnant with you and left me. She told me that you were Tyson's child and was going back to him so you all could be a family" Richard said. "He isn't my father" Parker spat. "How do you know that?" Tanner asked.

Parker rolled her eyes at Tanner but accepted the toast that Jude put in front of her. "He made it very well known" Parker stated. "Right anyway. The day you left your mothers place, I was made aware that I was in fact your father. I need you to know that I was never told you were my child. Parker, I would of been in your life if I had of known" Richard rushed out. "So the man who avoided me at all cost and pretended I didn't exist, is in fact my biological father?" Parker asked no one.

When Parker was growing up, William was a constant in her life. He was always over or her brothers were at his place. Richard had always treated the boys as an extension of his family. When it came to Parker, he ignored her completely. She was never welcomed into his house and he in fact would close the door on her when she had been sent over to get her brothers. He had basically treated her like nothing and now she was told that another man who treated her like crap, was actually her real father.

"Parker, I didn't know you were my daughter. I blamed you for Tamia leaving me" Richard tried to explain but Parker just shook her head. She didn't want to hear excuses at all. "Great now you all can leave" Parker said holding her hand up to indicate she didn't want to hear from Richard anymore. "Parker please don't do this" William said. He felt like he was losing his sister all over again and he didn't like that.

"Do what William? I'm not going to be treated like I don't matter anymore. I am not worthless or less then. You said your piece now leave. I am not interested in any excuses. None of you can justify how I was treated. William I am grateful for what you did for me growing up. I am grateful for you helping me to get here but that's where it stops. I will even pay you for the ticket to Melbourne, but I don't owe any of you a damn thing" Parker raged out.

"Parker please. We are here to apologise. We want you home. We are sorry for not being there for your graduation. That was all dads doing. He is gone now" Jude spoke up. Parker laughed. Did they honestly just blame Tyson? They were all part of it as well. He may of been the biggest player but they all played there own part in how she was treated in that house. "Parker mum and dad split up. Mum kicked him out and she had a nervous breakdown over how she let him treat you" Leon added.

"You think it's all on Tyson? You all played your part. I know what's happening at home. I have been kept up to date and frankly I don't care" Parker gritted out. "None of you saw me. None of you gave a shit about me unless I couldn't do something for you. This is more then missing my graduation which none of you seem to get at all. When is my birthday?" Parker spat. "Shut the fuck up William" Parker rushed out when she saw him go to answer.

"What?" Tanner asked. "You heard, when the fuck is my birthday?" Parker yelled. Tanner and Jude looked at Leon who was opening and closing his mouth trying to think when his sisters birthday was. None of them seemed to recall when it was at all which didn't go unnoticed by Richard who was turning red with anger. He was angry at himself for the way he treated Parker and also with how she had been treated by the people she had known as her family.

"Exactly, it's November 1st by the way. When was the last time any of you celebrated my birthday? Again shut up William. When was the last time I was invited to a family vacation? What is the last memory of us as a family?" Parker ranted. All three of the brothers put their heads down knowing they couldn't answer any of it.1

William went to grab Parker's hand that were resting on the table, but she shoved her hands in her lap. She didn't want his pity at all. She had got that most of her life. Yes William had been nice to her all her life, but that was out of pity. "You want to know the last memory I have of everyone? I was 8, there was a family vacation to Bali. William was invited. The car was packed, you all were in the car and I ran after mum. Tyson was driving. I had a small suitcase in my hand and went to jump in the car but mum stopped me saying Ninny was picking me up. I asked why I couldn't come and she told me it was a family vacation. I yelled I was family too and Tyson jumped out of the car storming around to me. He slapped me so hard it split my lip and knocked me to the ground. William jumped out of the car rushing towards me just as Ninny pulled up. Ninny lost her shit at mum and Tyson. You three got out of the car and came over to me. I asked why you all hated me so much and why I was hit. You Leon, told me I deserved it because I was being a brat. William held me while you all headed off on your holiday. You argued with Will about going with you, begged him to go because he was family. I stayed with Ninny for 12 months after that. William spent the 2 weeks with me and then not one of you came to see me the entire time I was there" Parker stated firmly before getting up and rushing out of the gadigal centre. She needed to get away before she broke down in front of the people she once considered family.
