The Dilemma of Parker

Chapter12

Chapter12

William took off after Parker, he needed to comfort her just like he had when she was 8 years old. He remembered that day like it was yesterday. He hated her family for hurting Parker like that. He hadn't spoken to Leon for months for what he had said to Parker. The only reason he started talking to Leon again, was because he said that Parker forgave him. Now William realised that she hadn't.

Leon had tears in his eyes when he saw his sister take off. He hadn't remembered that incident until Parker mentioned it because it hadn't been important. But now he knew it was monumental, especially to Parker. How could he say an 8 year old deserved to be hit by her supposed father? "He hit her? You all allowed him to physically hurt my daughter?" Richard boomed out. "I remember that, when she came home from Ninny's place, she started doing everything around the house and waiting for us to say thank you" Jude whispered. "She was trying to be noticed by any of you" Matt stated.

Matt didn't realise the extent of the harm that Parker's family had caused her. He had been given a version of what had gone down, but clearly that had been watered down. "You all need to leave. She has worked damn hard to get where she is today and I won't have any of you ruin that for her" Matt said standing up. He felt guilty for calling Parker over to speak to these people. He hadn't known the full story and now he had a better idea of how she grew up, he was sick to his stomach.

"I am not leaving without speaking to my daughter" Richard stated firmly. He was so upset and angry for Parker. "From what I just heard, you treat her pretty poorly even though she was innocent in all this. I think it's best you leave, she doesn't need you in her life. Regardless of whose child she was, she was a kid" Matt fumed out. "I know and I want to make it up to her" Richard fumed out. "If she wants anything to do with you, she can contact you" Matt yelled alerting a few students who had come into the gadigal centre.

"Everything ok in here?" Jaylan a student asked. Jaylan was a big boy. He was at least 6ft 6 tall and about 150kgs. He was a music student in his 3rd year but knew most of the students at gadigal. "These people were just leaving" Matt replied. "That's not your decision, it's Parker's" Jude stated. He wanted to see his sister and apologise to her so she would come home. They were family after all.

"Are you the dickhead that has Parker in tears?" Jaylan boomed out. He had seen Parker running from gadigal breaking down with a guy who claimed to be her brother trying to comfort her. "It's not your concern" Richard stated. "The fuck it's not" Jaylan boomed out alerting more of the students who were now standing along side Jaylan. You see Parker was well liked here and no one messed with her. She was family at the gadigal centre, she was mob and no one hurt one of there own.

"Look, we are Parker's brothers and this is her father" Leon stated trying to calm the situation down. "The fuckers who treated her like less? Listen here white fella, just because she is a black fella don't mean she is your slave" Jaylan boomed out. Parker had shared with people the fact she was treated differently because of what she assumed was her darker skin colour.

Leon couldn't believe that these people thought she was treated like less because of the colour of her skin. Leon was the lightest of skin in the entire family and he now knew it was because Tamia wasn't his biological family. Leon was in fact a white man. "She is my sister and I don't care about the colour of her skin" Jude stated. "Really? So why do you act like a white fella?" Lauren asked. She was the girl who shared a dorm room with Parker and had heard stories of how her brothers didn't identify as Aboriginal. Only Parker had made the connection to her heritage and immersed herself in culture which was shunned in her house.

"None of you know anything about us or our family" Tanner stated. "We actually know more about Parker then any of you do. She is our mob now and we don't like people who pretend to be white fellas harming our sissy" Sammy stated. Sammy was usually quiet as they were shunned from there home for being trans. "This is a private family matter" Leon stated getting annoyed. Leon was annoyed because these people were right, they probably did know more about Parker then they did.

William had caught up to Parker and pulled her into a bear hug just like he had done when she was younger. He hated that she was hurt again. William hated how upset Parker was and the fact that she knew his father didn't like her. While they didn't know Richard was her actual dad, that didn't mean he could treat her poorly. Will had called his dad out several times about it. It hadn't changed anything except his father staying right away. William knew Parker must of felt rejected by it all.

"I'm so sorry Parks. It's not fair and I didn't mean for you to be so hurt by it all. I just wanted you to know" William tried to comfort Parker. "I hate them all. They still don't see me" Parker sobbed. "I see you Parks. You are my baby sister and I have always seen you" William replied. "But you want me to go back and I never will. You feel sorry for me and that's it" Parker replied while still sobbing.

William did want Parker to go back home. He wanted them to be a family but how could he be so selfish? How could he ask her to return to a place that clearly caused his sister harm? "Just promise you will let me be your family" William mumbled. He would be willing to move to Sydney to be in Parker's life.

Parker's phone rang just as she went to speak. "Aunty Cheryl" Parker answered. "Parker, oh god they know where you are. Your uncle came home with his sister last night while I was at work. The boys are on there way to you now" Cheryl rushed out. "They are already here" Parker replied looking at a frowning William. Parker's Aunty knew where she was all along, she wanted better for her niece and had helped Parker's ninny care for her the year that Parker stayed away from her mother.

"I am so sorry Parker, I promised to keep you safe from them just like ninny wanted" Cheryl sobbed just as her uncle could be heard yelling at his wife. He must of heard the entire conversation. "Aunty Cheryl, you did nothing wrong. I love you" Parker replied before hanging up. She needed space from the toxic family she had been brought up in. "Will, I need to be left alone. I need to find me, I need to love me and I can't do that with toxic people in my life" Parker replied. "Don't push me away please Parker. I want a chance to be in my sisters life even if it means coming to live here" William replied. Parker didn't know what to say or do. No one had offered to be in her life in her terms.
