"He can now travel with you, but he isn't going to be feeling good the entire time. He may become moody, considering this flu does cause headaches, but he isn't contagious anymore. He is hydrated again and his body is fighting the virus off nicely, but he needs to continue to drink water and eat light foods. Now, as we all know, our wolves are more sensitive while recovering. His wolf could force a shift or attempt to. He needs to take it easy, I can't stress this enough," the doctor explained. "The rogue flu kills easily because of the afterwards. It's on hell of a nasty flu."

Rocco nodded as he glanced at his sleeping brother, "Don't worry, we'll make sure he takes it easy. How long should we watch him?"

"Two days, by the time you reach the mountains, he'll be fully recovered."

"Thank you," Julie whispered as she ran her fingers through Athos' hair.

Once the doctor left, Vincent wrapped his arms around my waisr and pulled me close. We all stayed with Athos, waiting for him to wake up. My sister was laying in the bed beside him, her breathing even from her deep slumber. After not sleeping for the past two nights, she had finally lost her battled against exhaustion. We were all nervous about Athos' reaction though, he doesn't allow anyone close to him.

It's too dangerous for him. At least, in his mind, it is.

"We both apologized and made it clear we regret everything we did to him....but he still won't let us in," Julie mumbled.

I frowned, "Put yourself in his shoes, you made him believe you didn't consider him family. You shunned him when he needed you the most. I understand you two were mates, but he loved you. Weren't you angry over your first heartbreak?"

Julie bit her lip, "Yeah."

"Not only did he lose his current girlfriend, but he lost his family as well. You two denied him the support he needed and now, because of you, he has a thick wall around his heart. He is terrified of allowing anyone to see the real him, Seraphina and I only got a glimpse. Imagine how much pain he has been holding in for, gods, how long?"

"Twenty years," Rocco murmured.

"Twenty years....he blamed himself, tortured himself, and bottled up his emotions for twenty years. I'm surprised he's still alive...imagine the depression."

Julie frowned, "We get it, okay? You don't need to shove it in our face."

"Oh, like how you shoved killing his pup in his face? How you two completely ignored his feelings and shoved your relationship in his face?" Vincent snapped. "You deserve every word my girl just said to you. He suffered for twenty fucking years because you two were selfish."

Julie quickly looked away from her son, but Rocco continued to listen. He knew he was wrong, he knew what he did, and he regretted it. Glancing at the retired Luna, I was able to figure one thing out.

Julie doesn't face her problems, doesn't admit to her wrongful actions, she runs. Like a coward, she runs and hides, hoping everyone will eventually forget. It disgusted me, but at the same time, I understood how scary it can be at times. But during this mess, she needs to fess up. Athos deserves her remorse.

"Why are you all watching me? That's a bit stalkerish," Athos mumbled, wrapping his arm around my sister's waist.

Rocco stared at his brother's arm before smirking, "So....is your arm comfortable?"

Athos looked at my sister, he furrowed his eyebrows before pulling her closer.

"I don't want her falling off," he stated.

Seraphina mumbled a few words and cuddled against him, much to Athos' surprise. He completely froze, his eyes wide as he watched her sleep.

"Relax, she doesn't bite in her sleep," I teased. "At least, not all the time."

He snapped his attention to me, "What? I am not getting bit—

"I won't bite you...not yet. Give me a few weeks," my sister yawned.

He watched her nuzzled her face against his chest, mumbling about not wanting to get up. Athos chuckled a little, causing all of us to smile. He carefully climbed to his feet before picking my sister up. For a moment, he furrowed his eyebrows and looked down at her.

"What?" I asked, worried.

"Her scent is changing...is she...pregnant?"

"What? How would I become pregnant? I wouldn't let Clyde touch me without a condom," Seraphina mumbled.

I frowned, "Didn't you text me about having a glass of wine with him and then waking up naked?"

"Are you implying he...raped me?" She murmured.

"I just...try to think about that morning. What happened?"

"I don't know, I just woke up with a stickiness betwe—oh my gods..."

Her face paled as realization dawned on her, Clyde had date raped her. She began to struggle to escape Athos' grip, but he refused. He only tightened his hold and brought her closer to him. As he began to soothe her, I was stunned by how calm his voice was.

"Shhhhh, you're okay," he said softly.

Seraphina began sobbing, her hands gripping onto his shoulders as she rambled about Clyde. She mumbled questions of why he did it, why he would rape her, why she was never enough. But when she began to panic about him hurting them, Athos chuckled.

"That mutt won't even come close to hurting you, he'll have to come through me first. And I can assure you, he won't be able to," he smirked.

She looked up at him, her eyes wide as he stared at her with a look of determination. I walked up and patted her on the shoulder, trying to assure her that she could trust him. With a gentle kiss on her cheek, I promised to also protect her and my future niece or nephew. She was still tense, but she eventually fell asleep again, resting her head against Athos naked chest.

I released a breath as we stared at each other, "So...the nurse gave you pants, but not a shirt?"

"Yes."

"Someone's a perv."

He shrugged, "My muscles are sexy, they can look but they can't touch."

"But Sera can probably touch everything," Vincent suddenly teased.

Athos flashed him a playful glare as he walked out, telling us to follow. Rocco pinched the bridge of his nose while grumbling about magic medicine. I laughed at them, knowing this car ride is going to be fun.

Especially with my pregnant sister. That explains her mood swings.
