Chapter 32

"You're not punching hard enough," Athos stated.

Vincent groaned, "Aren't you supposed to be resting?"

"I'm fine, but you need to train harder."

"You're killing me."

"I will be if you don't start punching harder. I know you aren't a weak fighter," Athos retorted.

I silently watched as Vincent tried making his uncle fall, but Athos didn't even flinch as Vincent's punches gained more power. Seraphina winced every time she heard the sound of him delivering a punch to Athos' abdomen. I was amazed by his strength, not once did he falter in his stance. After another hour, Athos' temper snapped as he showed Vincent how strong he wants him to punch.

Vincent crumbled to the ground, barely able to gain any air as his uncle stood above him.

"Do you understand now?" Athos asked, helping Vincent stand.

Vince nodded, "Yeah....holy crap..."

"Unlike your old man, this guy trains nonstop," Rocco commented.

Athos shrugged, "I'm an alpha, I shouldn't be easy to take down."

"Hey, I'm not easy to take down."

"Yes, you are."

Rocco flipped him off before returning to his book, grumbling about 'annoying ass brothers'. Athos released a breath and sat beside us, his face losing a little color.

"You seriously need to rest more," my sister scolded.

He shrugged, "I'm fine."

"No, you're not."

"I—

"Don't argue with me."

My sister's voice held a firmness in it that had him snapping his mouth shut, his eyes darkening a little. The dislike for her tone was obvious, but he didn't punish her. Instead, he took a deep breath and laid down.

"Rude," he mumbled.

Seraphina smirked, "Keep acting like a child and I'll become even worse."

He grumbled something else before a smirk tugged at his lips, his eyes held a mischievous look as he sat up.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

He grinned, "Just sitting up."

"Athos, I swear to gods, if you— ATHOS!"

We all burst out laughing as he poured the cold water on her, causing her clothes to cling to her body.

"Don't order me around again, sweetheart," he whispered before standing.

Seraphina glared at his retreating back, "Asshole."

Despite her breathing it, Athos still heard her and only nodded.

"That would be me," he grinned.

"Alright, come on, we need to start driving again," Rocco announced.

"Pain in the ass," my sister huffed as she snatched a towel.

Athos was sound asleep beside her, his eyebrows furrowed as another nightmare haunted him. My sister blew out a breath and ran her fingers through his hair, trying to soothe him.

"Hey, consider yourself lucky," Vincent voiced. "If anyone ever disrespects him and orders him around, they end up with a scar across their face."

Seraphina frowned, "Why?"

"Athos is an Alpha, he's strict with his pack and respects them. If they don't show respect in return, he punishes them. Though...he's more playful with you," Rocco explained.

Seraphina frowned as she looked down at the sleeping alpha, her eyes a little wide.

I wrapped my arms around Vincent and kissed his cheek, "I love you."

He smiled and kissed me on the lips, "I love you more."

As we watched over Athos, Vincent sighed, "How powerful is Athos?"

Rocco frowned, "When he isn't sick....he's extremely powerful."

"So...if a vampire manages to go after Sera?"

"That thing wouldn't stand a chance."
